Best Material of Light Armor

Post by Subystud »

I'm level 22 and still wearing Elven armor. What is the best material of armor for light armor? Glass? I'm just curious as to when I should use some transcendent stones on some nonmagical armor.

Yes, glass armor is the best light armor in the game. At this level, or maybe a little higher, it should be quite common on bandits or vampires that inhabit ruins, caves or other locations. i don't remember at what level i got mine. eventually i managed to compose several suits. however, finding a glass helmet is tricky. i only found two in the game.

Glass Armor

Do you know if I can find any Glass armor at level 9? I already have found a glass helmet called Fin Gleam. But are there any standard glass armor that you can find? Maybe a whole suit?

Fin Gleam is a standard magic item in oblivion. it is the same, regardless the level you are. at level 9 i don't think you will find glass armor. from 16 above you may have a chance. also at glass weapons. as for suits, they are harder to find. since a lot of characters were composed armor. you might have to kill a lot of people to make one. even at high levels the enemies rarely wear a full suit of armor. except the daedra and guards. However, be advised when attacking NPCs wearing such armor. attacking an enemy wearing glass armor or better with a poor weapon, such as iron arrows or iron sword or steel, has little effect on him. keep changing your weapons, as better quality weapons become available, and try to attack the enemy with the best weapon possible for a chance at bigger damage on him.
