Balancing an MP party with NPCs

Post by zakalwe7 »

Once I’ve finished my current game, I was thinking of taking a customised party through and installing some of the more difficult fights. However I want a mix of creating my own characters and keeping the NPC aspects. What is the best way to do this? I was thinking of altering the NPCs in shadow keeper but I’ve never used it before. Is this doable?

I was hoping to have :-

Kensai / Mage
Kensai / Thief
Ranger / Cleric
Inquisitor
Sorceror
Half-Orc Beserker (although not sure on this – want a full tank making use of some of the better weaponry)

But at the same time I would like to have these as NPCs. So thinking of taking Kelsey and Keldorn, changing Imoen to a Kensai / Mage, perhaps changing Jaheira to a Ranger / Cleric and perhaps add another quality mod that fits or changing Valygar to a Kensai / Thief. None of this is perfect RP wise but I’d just like to both play with the above 6 classes and have them as NPCs. Is there any mods which would help? Is it possible to all this in shadow keeper? Any pitfalls I should avoid?

Eta – I’ve played through the game about 5 times, with most of the npcs, solo and with a MP party. This time I want a customised party but with character and voices, etc.

As for the berserker, just choose Korgan. The dwarven saving throw bonusses help more than 19 strength which becomes obsolet with equipment. You could edit his stats for 18/00 str or 17 dex and add the "happy party" mod or you could just change Mazzy or a Berserker.
Many have changed Minsc into a Berserker in their games.

You can customize just about anything with ShadowKeeper, including creatures, opponents and NPCs, playable or non-playable. You can change stats, equipment, looks. I changed all the cows to umber hulks once, made me jumpy.

kmonster, thing is that i'm busy playing through with korgan at the moment. and while he is indeed an awesome fighter (highest kills in my party), i'm getting a bit tired of him. I'm happy replaying with characters i'm fond of - Imoen, Kelsey, Minsc and Viconia, but he is bugging me.

I think that i just need to have a play around with all the stats. Just not quite sure what the starting characters should have for their scores if i change them around.
