Game shuts off, no apparent reason

OK, when I go to my wizards inventory screen(she is the last character in my party) my game will shut down if I am in the inventory for about 5 seconds or longer. It only happens with my wizard and it happens often. So now I'm being forced to save even more than usual. When it shuts down I get the typical "send error report" window. Is there a way to fix it, or do I have to quit whining and just put up with it?
Every day above ground is a good day.(Unless your an Illithid)

I've seen this problem bug a user who did not have the official patch 2.01 installed. It is found here:

Thank-you very much. I tried to install this patch before but I was sent to a page that doesn't exist anymore or a site that wanted money. Well its installed now so here I go again. Thanks.
