Useful Enchants?

Post by GawainBS »

Hello

I am looking for some nice enchants for my character... Currently he's wearing the Cuirass of Savior's Hide, the Mentor Ring, the ring with 20% Magicka, Poison, Shock Resist, an excuisite Amulet of Health (Constant Effect 4-5 health restored) and a Glass Helm of Nighteye, also Constant Effect. Oh, I also have Longstrider Pants, they Constant Effect restore 7 fatigue or so.
I have to Golden Saint souls in reserve, so any ideas what I could enchant with them?
I tried searching the boards, but there were mostly the things I already had, or lame things like Chameleon or Sanctuary.

Thanks in advance!

These are not constant effect, but two items I love are an exquisite amulet of levitation and an exquisite ring of invisibility - its really useful for scouting ahead or even just for getting over mountains or water :)

As for constant effect items, which is your primary attribute that you use? When playing a spellcaster I always have CE Intelligence items so I have more magicka. I also quite often make CE strength items - comes in handy when you are looting things.

My primary stats would be Agility and Intelligence, but the Mentor's Ring coupled with the Atronach gives me 330 Magicka, which is a lot already. Hhmmm... Maybe Strengt CE is a good idea...
I forget to mention: I have Alteration, so those effect are much less needed.
Thanks for the tip. :)

A word of warning with CE items. As I recently experienced, if you put a CE effect on something that gets repaired be *very* certain you always de-equip before subjecting it to an armorer's hammer. Otherwise you may end up stuck with permanent levitation, water walk, water breathing invisibility etc... none of which are desirable.
Some time back my character ended up repairing a Celaphopod helm enchanted with CE light and water walking and I could not remove those effects even when I de-equipped the helm; I had to return to an earlier save.

Good you mention that. I have a habbit of simply bashing my stuff with my hammer to repair it, without a thought... Seems pretty counterintuitive, the bashing-to-repair-thing, but it works. ;)

few of my contstant enchantments:
exquisite shoes: levitate 1 pt, sanctuary 2pts/waterwalking, fortify speed 2pts
exqusite pants, skirt, and shirt: fortify strength 12 pts (great for carying extra crap)
exqusite belt: water breating, night eye 10pts
i did that exact same ammy too, but the necromancer amulet with restore 1 hp works just fine with all its extra goodies

and this may have just been a glitch for me, but i made a belt with constant bound longbow, took off the belt and the bound bow stuck around permanently, couldnt break it, sell it, drop it, nothing, mine forever, not complaining tho, it doesnt way anything

The Necromancer's Amulet, I haven't found yet. I don't want to go on killing sprees either.
Hhmm, maybe I should consider STR CE too.
I guess there isn't a "restore Magicka" spell, eh? :p

DragonBone Curiass, Dadric greaves, Left and right gauntles that are found in the sixth house base, helm of oryn bearclaw dadric boots with nighteye.

I think ring of the wind and helm of qyrn bearclaw is good for you, CE Strength gauntlet and it's matching agility one.

Pretty much exactly what my character is wearing right now, except that I have my Daedric boots enchanted with CE strength. They don't hold a huge enchant value (5 points I think), but hey... this is heavy armor, so every little bit of strength helps.
I would also suggest something enchanted with CE Slowfall, even just 1 or 2 points stop you from taking serious damage when making large leaps. And, I can't really think of *any* negative consequences to enchantments like strength and slowfall if they end up becoming permanent through the glitch.

Another decent CE idea is bound armor...

I wouldn't really recommend Sanctuary, however... that can get a bit cheesy, obviously your call though ;) . Shield is better, but that is quite expensive in terms of the way it swallows up points, as I recall.

There's no restore magicka spell, but a number of mods do address the magicka issue, assuming you are on PC...

I'm going to stick to Light Armour. :) I'll remember the Daedric Advice for my upcoming Legionaire, though...

Yes, I'm on PC, but the "Regenerate Magicka" mods don't work because I was born under the Atronach. Bloody Racists! :p
Do you remember where I could find an Exquisite Belt for enchanting? I have checked with clothiers all around, but never found an excuisite belt. "Only" pants and shirts...

I've already got the Cuirass of the Savior's Hide. Which Telvanni helm do you mean? Cephalod? Are they for sale? Or five-fingered sale? ;)

Hmmm... What I suggest then is to download and install Magical Trinkets of Tamriel, even with the sign of the Atronach you'll find various items that will help restore your magicka (some of them *very* powerful)...

Yes, exquisite belts can be hard to find, I've usually stumbled into them in crates and barrels when my level has been high enough. Sometimes mage Daedra worshippers are wearing them as well. The only clothier I can think of who might sell them is the one in Tel Mora...

wow ill have to get me a mole crab helm, even tho theyre ugly and ive never seen one without an enchantment already on it
those gauntlets are the fist's of ragnulf or something, theyre awesome but heavyarmor

i believe the clotheir in balmora sells an exquisite belt, but only 1. if she doesnt have 1 just raid all the closets in the redoran council manors and ur sure to come accross atleast 1, but theyre random of what exquiste items they got in em
theres also a random quest in ald'ruhn where u get this dude to give back all these clothing items to traders around town, hes got a sorta unique belt that will probably work for u, but with all the exqusite belts i have, i just stashed it

also if u want a pimp ammy, go north/nw of gniss and look for a woman who lost her ring in a pond. after u find the ring for here, youll get the amulet of shadows (1200 charge, chameleon 80% for 30 seconds)

and if u plan to keep that restore health ammy, u dont need slowfall cause a few seconds after u break ur ankle ull be good 2 go agian =D

Good idea but also add the amulet of shadows the quest in in the walk through.

The helm is aquired throught this simple process. Walk up to telvanni guard. Hit him til he dies. Take his Helm.

That simple process looks awfully like a killing. ;)
I'm going to settle on CE STR, AGI, Slowfall, Waterbreathing, I think. Maybe something else, depensing on what I find in that "Magickal Trinkets" mod...
Thanks for all the replies!
