How to best employ a certain MQ Tribunal prize (spoilers!)

Post by dragon wench »

First of all, I figured there would already be threads on this topic so I did a search. However, using the key words "Almalexia's soul" didn't bring anything up.
If anyone knows of such a thread, please post it here, and then this thread can be closed ;)

Anyway... After a fun romp through the Clockwork City Almalexia has received her just desserts and her soul now inhabits a certain gem.
Wow... 1500 points! I have to say, I'm at a slight loss as to the best way to use such a prize...
Constant Effect or Charges?
Daedric Tower Shield, Ebony Scimitar, Ebony Staff?

I'm leaning toward charges because I figure using something like that for CE could end up being *way* too powerful.... Even then though, I'm not quite sure which enchantments to choose, any suggestions? :D

Not as powerful as far as CE goes as you might think DW, don't forget the item enchanted has limits as well, plus the number of charges allowed can be limiting.

I once removed the enchantment on Elidon's (sp?) Shield, humongous enchantment points, but still limited in what you could enchant. Still a game killer though, but with a Daedric Tower Shield it'll be the shield that limits the power of the enchantment; in fact using either Vivec or Almalexias soul for CE wouldn't be that much more effective for CE than Ascended Sleepers.

Now use one of those souls to enchant an Ebony Staff or one of the Scimitars, thats overpowerful, but they're fun to wield.

PS I'm glad you sorted 'The Lady Vanishes' problem.

lol!
Well... I have to admit that the Ebony Scimitar idea rather appeals to me... :o
The thing is, at this point my PC is extremely powerful already. Because of all the potions my char. was able to prepare, the battle with Almalexia was over pretty quickly...
So, it's quite possible that an enchanted blade would not make a huge amount of difference....

Hmm... *muses* When I began this character I decided that just once, instead of playing the more low profile types I usually play, that I would see the full extent of what maximum power could achieve, hence my roleplaying a Telvanni... I guess I may as well follow it through.... :D

Re the Lady: Thanks very much for your attempts to help me there, I feel like such an idiot though... :o

Well if you want power, enchant the scimitar with as much absorb health on striking as it'll take (a lot), the charges conferred by the soul should see you through Hercine's maze without too much sweat.

PS It'll cost a fortune to re-charge though.

If you can find a daedric cuirass, or something with comparable enchantment points, it is possible to have CE levitate at a low level (i think only 5) works nicely for the transition from A-B, and makes it a lot easier to deal with cliff racers, but CAN be an overpowering game piece.

and also, if you are worried that the low level of levitate isnt worth it, say for example you have the BOBS, the upgrade is translated to your levitating ability the same way it would be if you were running
I am not cursing, I am solilquizing in a profoundly coloquial manor!

Try ebony staff with 100 fire and 100 frost damage for al long as you can make it last.

Getting hurt with the best part of 1000 damage tends to slow things down.

Put it on your mantelpiece - I know how much of a Hoarder you are...

Either a high absorb health or elemental damage/weakness to elemental damage and/or paralyse on a weapon or some CE item (probably a daedric tower shield) conferring something you would find useful (I don't know what you have currently).

Enchant an exquisite robe w/ as much levitate as you can. Rapid travel for the rest of the game w/o it being overpowering. Couple that with a constant effect invisibility and you create an overpowering combination. Nice choice to have, though.

I'd go with the cloak, but chameleon instead of invisibility, since the former doesn't drop when exposed. (It's always exposed, but always effective.) Add to that 100% Reflect. They'll miss you with weapons, and they'll hit you with magic that rebounds on themselves.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
