Master Trainer + mods ?
Master Trainer + mods ?
DW/Fable - read your other posts.
Thanks for the info + I don't intend on removing the game barring a computer breakdown or mod mishap
I figure to a few per play = to keep it fresh and so I remember "how to install the mods"(... I forget quickly).
Had to ask someone how to "drag & drop" ... open multiple screens
--------------------
Two quick questions
1) Read about Sirollus Saccus.
On another site FAQ, it says he won't train you unless you check the box in the editor ?
Ok, here we go ... where is the editor ... how to I get to it ... where is the box ... does it solve the problem
I just traveled from Balmora to Ghostgate(... steal glass gear = need the $).
Fought about 6 Cliff racers and 3 Foragers = my Spear broke
I just bought a bow and I see as I use it, it also needs to be repaired(...Suran Archery = good stuff !)
My armor is ok for now.
But I can see repair will be an issue, so I want to up my armorer skill to raise my STR attribute(.. my character is 200/250 = I walk like a snail and can't carry much).
I getting close to leveling up and I'd like to start asap on upping my aromer skill ... would like it to be 100 at some point, so I could use hammer/tongs etc
Figure best to get the Saccus bug fixed now.
Have the PC-GOTY edition ... if that helps
2) I have houses to buy and furniture to add, but nobody to "meet me"
I did not see any mods listed here where you can add a wife, girlfriend, housemate(?) etc
Are there no mods you deemed worthy or bugged ?
Are there any worth adding just to have "someone/something" meet you when you "come home"
Just curious ... see all these hose fixer-uppers, but none mention people
In Mourhold, I bought a rat just to see him when I came home ... used the house I "won"
I know I can't add mods, so that will be in the future ... when I try and cut int Fable's 200 mod lead (LOL)
But, the Saccus issue has to be addresed soon ... I'm 9/10, and I'd like to start my armorer/STR upping right away
If I can't turn Saccus into a Master Trainer, is there a cheat.
Like find another trainer, reduce my armorer skill via console, pay him, then just put my skill where it should ?
Thanks for the help.
Time to try and hit crabs with the bow ... Mr_Sir was right in my first build with his advice: "spells over bow" would be my best bet
With no radius, if I move, I shoot the ground = not good
Until I can Enchant, my bow might get me into trouble = practicing the "quick weapon switch" !

the editor is called the elder scrolls construction set, open it and load the morrowind main data file, down the npc tab find him, and check his box. that should fix his glitch.
there is a female kahjit in the halfway tavern in pelgiad that u can start quests to move into her house. too small for me tho. there are also some good mods called morrowind abodes, they make nice large houses in all the main citys, but there site is down so ull have to look for them somewhere else
ur best bet if u cant get him to train ya, is find all sorts of ppl that will train armor to like 70-80 then use cheats to add skill books for armorer, least thats what id do

Wayn in the Balmora fighter's guild can train you to about level 50, which is way more than you really need. Each equipment chest in the fighters guilds hold 10 journeyman's hammers, load up and hammer away, keep track of how many skill increases and make up the difference with Wayn.
The best companion mod I've come across is Witchgirl Adventure (Tribunal) by Emma, you can get it here: Witchgirl Adventure (Tribunal) - Planet Elder Scrolls
To use the mod, open the zip file, select extract to..., set the path (by browsing) to your Data Files directory and extract.
PS You get the use of a house in Ald-Ruhn with the Witchgirl Adventure, as well as an adorable sweetheart.

I don't have the time to answer extensively at the moment, but in terms of companion mods, I strongly recommend you check out Emma's Site.
All of Emma's companion mods are *excellent* and I'd highly recommend any of them. Constance is awesome! Excellent dialogue and a great quest. She won't be your "girlfriend" but she's well worth it, equally Kateri's Julan is first rate.
For a girlfriend, I'd suggest The White Wolf of Lokken Mountain (on the same site).. which is a quest mod, romance mod and house mod all rolled into one. It is very, very good.
Galraen has already mentioned Witch Girl, which is another of Emma's companions. You can also find her at Emma's site, and she is equally well done.
btw, you can simultaneously run any of these companions together, and they will actually acknowledge one another in a number of cases.

I wholeheartedly endorse DW's recommendations.
Come to think of it, I believe I recommended one or two of them to her, originally.
Mind's going. Oh, well. In any case, you can't go wrong with anything Emma does. It's meticulously designed, well-balanced, and has plenty of personal touches.

lol Fable!
I'm quite certain you originally suggested some of those mods to me, though I can't remember which, and some I think we discovered individually at roughly the same time. Again, I can't quite remember the details, my memory is horrible.... *sigh*
Anyway though,
@ Joe, one thing I forgot to mention is that you can also download pets from Emma's site: a pack guar, a donkey, cats, dogs and also a wolf...
For that matter, assuming you don't have anything that would cause a conflict, you could also download Pegas Horse Ranch which allows you to buy and breed ridable horses
Indeed, Pegas is even companion compatible. You can choose to have your companion double up behind you or you can put them on their own horse. It's a great mod.

Another very nice mod by Emma is a series of several rings, purchaseable at a shop that sells colored swords, down the street from the Mage's Guild in Balmora--you know the one. Each ring has a hefty price tag, but then you have a special agent who appears when you wear it, and offers to magically teleport you to one of a wide variety of distant locations (for a nominal fee). It's not cheese, because the cost is something like 5000 or 6000 gold for just one ring, alone. Really saves on the shoe leather, once you've gotten used to hoofing it over Vvardenfell, and want to take the easy way.

... thanks
I have several companion mods ... missed Witchgirl ... will add her now
I'll look at the pet mods = I thought they were compsnion mods ?
Didn't know how long they would last in combat
I was hoping to just place them in my "house(s)" and let them run around.
So, about 50+ in armorer is all I need.
I started at 5(MISC) ... should have put it in MINOR = oops
Already bought every Master/Grandmaster hamer I could find ... plus tongs ... not sure how to use both, but I'll start banging away as soon as I near 50
Will hit Emma's site now.
See many nice downloads
I'd rather not mess with the editor ... remember the last time :-(
I'll train up, use my hammers and see if I can lower my armorer points, buy 10(... pay the equivalent as per other increases at the level) points, then up my level via the console ... hopefully I'll still get the 5-STR points
My armor is the best I could find(... top of a stronghold) ... have the best spear(... after assassin attack went to Mournhold, just to "buy" it) and the best bow Suran Archery Tradehouse offers.
Yet rats are chomping on me and ghosts are impervious to my Spear and I can't hit them with my bow from 1ft
I'm thinking I should have put my weapons in MAJOR ... time to kill Mudcrabs
... I'll have to level up before I enter any more tombs
Have lots of $, time to buy something.
Should have included a companion mod... after all the problems, I only installed 6 ... guess we have something to look forward to next game

It also occurs to me that you might like Your Morrowind Family.. you have to scroll down to the end of the page. From Emma's description:
At “The Rat in the Pot” in Ald-ruhn, you will find a young woman and four children. Talk to the woman – she has a very good reason why she and the children are in urgent need of a place to stay.
This mod will make it possible for you to have a little Morrowind “family” of your own to take care of. The npc’s aren’t really full-fledged companions, but more suitable to live in your home and be a part of the atmosphere.

IMO having armourer as a misc skill isn't a mistake, a lot easier to control than it is as a major or minor. Don't wait, start hammering right away, just activate the hammer/tongs by dragging it over your mannequin as if you were equipping it.joe05 wrote:... thanks

I'd strongly advise against using the console to level up, I've had bad experiences when trying that.joe05 wrote:then up my level via the console ... hopefully I'll still get the 5-STR points

Complete agreement. While it's true that the console commands were never "guaranteed" for player use, most of them work very well, all the time. However, there are problems with leveling and profession/race/sex shifts unless you're very familiar with what you're doing.galraen wrote:I'd strongly advise against using the console to level up, I've had bad experiences when trying that.

DW/Fable - ok; added more mods
Galraen/Fable - hear you.
Was hoping to up my Armorer by reducing the total by 10pts via console(... after Wayn stops training me), buying 10pts(... dropping $ on the ground) from Wayn, which should net me 5-STR ?, then re-adding the 10pts to Armorer that I deducted, via console.
I thought of this when I noticed a Disintegrate Longsword spell.
Figured it would basically do the same thing ? ... temporarily reduce the skill, train it up, then the spell runs out and the skill is back to where it should be
Not sure I'm making sense
Was looking for a work-around because there is no Master Armorer.
Thanksfor the advice/help !
