Agreed. A few well placed rounds are much better than ones being fired blindly. ;)

I remember the trusty ol' BFG. I hated how long it took to fire, that whole charging-up thing before it fired. I was a little more fond of the rocket launcher, personally. Same destructive power, albeit not to the same degree, but it's fun watching those regular zombies go flying in gooey red piles of charred flesh. Gosh I miss old school Doom.

And also in most (if not all) shooters in existence. ;) To this day, I still don't understand why most developers tend to purposely underpower the automatic weapons up till the point that it's much weaker than an ordinary pistol. Even the Thompson sub-machinegun (or practically any automatic weapons) in the Call of Duty series and a few others are much more powerful than the ones found in many other shooters. :(

That's true but have you played unreal? The pistol might have infinate ammo but it is so weak that you are dead if you try it....

Machine guns are for the granade launcher they tend to have only.
Like in Half Life. Use the Glock, the most accurate and dangerous weapon in the game :D

I dispute that. There are games there the Machinegun is implemented really well and is a pleasure to use. (Phariah)
