I just beat the game last night, and after watching the final little movie, I had to leave immediately. So I haven't actually tried to do this yet.
How do I go about getting my party to start over in HoF mode? TIA
Yay, I beat the game on Normal! Now how do I start HoF?

I got it to work.
I manually exported them after replaying the final battle (there's a period of time after killing Isair and Madae before you leave the tower and trigger the ending movie to do this). I couldn't figure out any other way of doing it.
Man, HoF is tough!

I finally did the same thing last night. I wish I read this first since my autosave does not give me enough time to do anything before the game immediately cuts to the movie. It didn't allow me to save between the battles, and I forgot that I needed to click "export" to make the characters accessible for HOF. On Insane difficulty, I barely survived the second battle, but the first one went pretty slick. I exported my characters on a re-load just before the end game and exported them from there.Philos wrote:The game also "autosaves" your characters when you descend the tower to initiate the final fight. But the problem is that you haven't gotten the XP for the last fight nor any of the good loot from it. I did what you did and was glad I did so.
Is the end game loot worth it re-do the battle?

It might be worth a re-do. Insane difficulty, hmm.:speech: Personally, IMHO I think the loot is worth it. There were at least 2 if not 4 of those nasty Sword of the Soulless that you can loot from the Xvim slayer knights. I sold a couple or three in Targos when I started HOF and my party was practically set for the rest of the game. I don't recall the exact amount but "think" it was like 55k apiece that I got for them. I know I kept 1 for my barbarian/rogue to use in HOF. There is also a set of magical plate armor (best armor I am aware of in the game) . Those two items stand out but there was a LOT of stuff. I spent a lot time with the game on pause while I went through everything I had deciding what to keep in slots for export. I stopped selling the expensive gems (pearls, diamonds, rogue stones) about halfway through the game and saved them for export since money does not carry over. Don't forget that any containers (bag of holding, potion case, etc.) will not export either, so don't even waste a slot on one. Take what you want out of it and pitch the container before you export. When my current party gets close to the end I will probably start to even buy gems and just blow the cash.
UNCOMMON VALOR WAS A COMMON VIRTUE
Indeed, I did have the stacking mod. That element of the mod alone has VASTLY enhanced my pleasure with playing the game. I was wise enough to buy as much as I could from Riki until the coins ran out. I made sure I was up to my armpits of her ammo for sale.
I did replay the end game. As you mentioned, there were +5 Soulless Swords to be looted and I think a suit of half plate Mithral armor (or was that somewhere else??). This time around, the battle was an absolute cakewalk. I've had more difficulty pouring cheerios for breakfast.
Since I never came across +5 Axes or +5 longswords/ scimitars, I'm considering keeping what I can of the greatswords (just need to put dots in Greatword) and sell what they currently wield.
With what I kept to sell has vastly increased my gold. I am mucho happy.
