Help! Fallout1 + windowsXP = Error.

Hey I need help getting fallout1 to work on my windows XP. All I get is "error this game can not be used with your current software"
Im heart broken! All the fallout 3 hype made me search for like 4 hours in my garage to find my fallout1 disk!

Did you try the search function?

I created a thread about technical problems with Fallout 1 couple of years ago, and that thread is still findable with search - function:

So, basically you need to enable the compatibility mode. Here is how it's done:

right click setup.exe
Go to the tab called "Compatibility" (or similiar)
check the box labeled as Compatibility mode (or similiar way, depending on the language of your system)
Click ok, and run the setup

Thanks I got it working earlier today. I love fallout

But I have neevr actually finished the full game of fallout1 or 2!

And just friendly hint, try search -function before posting in future. These forums contains tons of useful hints, and most questions probably are answered already. If you can't find answer with search, then you more than free to create new topic. It's just that the site owner doesn't want to have duplicated threads because. And searching first may save you several hours of waiting...
