POISON's screenshot "you will not pass" featues a very scary looking lady. In that vein I must say that every tough and able female warrior looks even more threatening with her pink outfit and ...BUNNY slippers!

I had made the bunny slippers as a joke because people at my Dungeon Siege forum were teasing me about my slipper preferences...

So okay......thought I'd bring this thread back from the dead :D I'm new to this forum and haven't had a chance to post pictures. So here...

I took this character about as far as I'm going too using exploits (cheats :speech: ) of one kind or another. I guess you could say she is half way. The character levels top out at 2108 or so and then start over.

kathycf and War-Wiz

Nice job by both of you.

cathycf, you keep the tone light with your posts. I enjoy them.   ;)

Wiz, thanks for resurrecting the post. I'm sure someone else will enjoy it and maybe post. I will be back here sometime this year using the forum. I plan to replay DL as it was a fun game where you could freestyle your fighting if you wanted.

I think it was an underrated game with an excellent fighting style and cool magic spells. There were better executed spells in this game than in Neverwinter Nights 2. You just have to love those Nova spells. I loved my character getting surrounded and then lighting off a Nova or two.

Thanks Kel :)

You started this thread almost two years ago  Nice to see you drop by now and again

I'll let you all wonder where I took this screen ;)

And for Kathycf......recognize the armour??

And here's a screen of the same character wearing the top from Kathy and wearing a pair of "Daisy Dukes" that I did. :D

And another shot of Warchild walking in Fargrove.

Thanks for the armour sets and the advice you gave in the *skins* thread Kathy. It was a lot of help and I sure had fun with it

Later I'll try to post some shots of another female character wearing custom designer skirts :speech:

For a guy I might have taken this custom skins thing a little too far....I even started to add make-up and jewelry on the female characters

Hi Kel, and thanks. Glad you might come back to DL, sometimes a long break makes playing fresh again.

Hey, good screenies War-Wiz. I am really glad you liked the armor, and Warchild looks very fetching. :D Thank you for downloading it. I think your character in the first picture is on top of the roof at Feros Duul's house....Or maybe the roof of Vartuug's fortress.

Where did you find Staroxia's textures to use for your other character? I wanted to make some skirts, but you need the character 3D model to already have that mesh on them otherwise it's just pants normally. Silly game that doesn't have robes in it...they made the 3D models for players to wear robes, too, but just never finished them apparently. Looking forward to seeing your skirts.

Oh, and no worries...you just want your character to look nice. Nothing wrong with that. Gosh, I made underwear sets and manicured nails...now that's taking it too far. :p :o

Last but not least....my very first ever "real" character in DL. I started this character a year ago and here she is in the newbie forest with her boyfriend. Elves and humans can get along. :D

I had first purchased the game in Nov 2005, but rarely played. My boyfriend really liked it and played all the time. I had deleted the one character I had because I got frustrated with the game. Last summer we decided to play multiplayer and I got hooked.

Yup....you got it, on top of Vartuggs fortress in Skuldoon. If your patient you can climb up on the side of the building and hop the fence :D
The way to get your character to take on the persona of an NPC is to rename two files in the grn_model file. Just swapping really. For the human female just find the file PCHF_Basemodel and rename with the name of another human female NPC and vice versa. You will look like Staroxia for instance but Staroxia will look like the basemodel with very short hair when you meet her
Staroxia is a little tougher than say Sister Daria because of the hair. I had to swap an elf hair file with a human one so she didn't have a pony tail :D

The game doesn't support wearing skirts normally but this can be overcome by first, swapping the PCHF_Basemodel and PCHF_Basemodel_Skirt files by renaming them. Then renaming those generic skirt skins in the grn_texture file after different pieces of armour remembering to also disable the armour by renaming them. By just adding a number for example. If you want to try only the skirt, just rename the leggings. Two of the texture files must be renamed in order to get past the start screen. Those are the PCHF_DEFAULT_pants and PCHF_DoubletA_pants and changed for skirt files otherwise the game will give you a granny error and lockup. If you play LAN the other players files will have to be altered on their comp, like yours, or you get a granny error and lockup. I found that out when I tried to play on line with a Zaur character and someone came into the game with a female. I still had the game configed for skirts for my female character :o

Before you start to modify anything the usual disclaimer certainly applies.
Backup your files first
You can create a new folders in My Documents and then copy your saved games, grn_model and grn_texture files so you can overwrite the file if you make an error or want to restore your character.
For those that don't know how to back up their files..............don't try this

Nice ones

Walking adds something, how do you do that ?

Well, a little of mine to jump in the topic, well, actually, climbing would be the word since it seems to be fun reaching hard places.. :)

Walking isn't enabled in the game as far as I can tell. So like your Fathien Bladewitch (very  BTW) , you have to manipulate files. Look for the move_runloop and move_walkloop and swap them by renaming. Takes a bit of getting used to because the characters still move across the ground as fast as if they were running :D

Yup.....climbing things can be a fun challenge

Want a Date??

First off, Welcome to Elvithra, to the world of wierd, wacky and funny screenshots but then that was what I intended it for. Have fun !!!

Now on to some more serious matters:

kathycf, re: your pic, (The screenshot program I use sometimes takes weird pictures....) nice derriere, the only give away that she too is not a mushroom. I see you have been designing outfits again. I wish the developers would hire you.

War-Wiz, I'm thinking of bringing my character out of retirement after seeing your, (And a slightly modified :o :p generic outfit in the lobby of the Arindale Inn.) :mischief:

I am posting this one I forgot to post. Most of my screens are currently missing from an upgrade to a new computer and I am running around pulling my hair out trying to find them. :( :speech:

Hi gang....me again :D

A ninja master action shot

And checking out the new blades

I was looking at the Granny viewer again. I guess that they had planned to add the ninja mask into the game because there is a file for the mask called "ninja_mask_world" but the file that that would allow you to wear one seemed corrupted. I tried swapping it with a helm but it didn't work

In the texture file there are some skins that you can use to give your character a ninja mask (even a Urgoth :D ). But doing it this way is for appearance only as it will have no armour value and you can't take it off without restoring the texture files back to normal.

Your guy looks great, War-Wiz! I like the assassin "skirt", very cool looking. I know what you mean about the ninja mask, someone asked about that months ago and it seems it is one of those things they started working on but never finished....just like robes for spellcasters. You must have seen those models in the grn model folder too.

Nice job once again. :)

Some great info re models and such there War-Wiz.

Been mucking around with this and set up a character called Seng Po - Ahn Po's (from Dragon House) long lost brother!

I figure this guy can go through the game with this look. Also since he is a member of the Po family, and has returned to do the job his brother won't do because of running the family business, (see it does belong in this thread) I gave him 5 points in athletics, identify and scout - also did this because of broken game issues and being too impatient to get all the basic moves.

Image attached - and now he's my Avatar.

I tried getting one of my chars to wear an Imperial/dynasty skirt but I can't figure out how you did it. I can see that the game tries to apply the corresponding armor texture to skirts but I can't get it happening. All I get is red or blue skirts (you said rename the armor legging files to generic skirt files) but not the armor look. Could you elaborate on how you did it?

BTW I have replaced the wade move with the walk move - to me it makes walking through water a more confident looking action and of course the pace of the walk is consistent with wading. Also had some fun replacing the look_back move with all sorts; sleep, sit, hands on hips and a few others.

Anyway this has added a whole new dimension to the game so thanks War-Wiz.

Also thanks Kathy for that sporty looking black armor!! As I see it there's two things about these sort of games; the character you build and the character you have to look at, so its nice when both are appealing.

This is my first post. Been reading posts here off and on for a while. So thanks to everyone who's contributed, and especially Seve2d for his editor - it saved one of my games from ending dead in the water due to bug about an incomplete quest.
Really, how many people do you know that are not NPCs?

Hey Compertz.....welcome to the forum :)

Your Seng-Po character looks pretty good

I tried getting one of my chars to wear an Imperial/dynasty skirt but I can't figure out how you did it. I didn't do the ninja skirt, thats an NPC. I couldn't get the "short" armour skirts to work. The developers seemed to have abandoned those for the game at some point in the development. I assume they were supposed to be 3D add-ons like helms or shoulder armour (spauldrons). I guess I'll never know for sure :( The NPCs have them though.

The skirts I did do were for the female characters and I only did a couple. I just took bits and pieces and pasted them on a generic skirt skin. Then replaced an armour file with the modified skirt. It took some trial and error to get it looking okay though. :p

An Assasin skirt

An Imperial skirt

There were a couple of other things in the model file I would have liked to have gotten to work but so far have been unable too, War claws or Naga gloves to give a bit of an attack bonus to a character using Ninjitsu since the nether spell dragon claws doesn't work

Thanks for info, feedback and welcome.

When I set up old Seng Po I had two other chars on the go and basically played all three for a while in one session. I noticed a distinct psychological effect from playing Seng Po though - he was much more disciplined in his fighting!!!

So maybe the look of a character offers other advantages to the character you choose to play!

Cheers
