freezing Suldanesselar (no spoilers)

Hi, I've got troubles in Suldanessellar. Shortly after my arrival, my computer stops working properly, it gets terribly slow, screen freezes for one minute each ten seconds... game eventually shuts itself down with an error message. Such problem never occured before, all six previous chapters were quite smooth. I tried to change the configuration, making the game as easily manageable as possible, alas, to no avail.
Any suggestions?

Have you tried to backup your saves, and then reinstall?
And what about patching? And do you have ToB installed?

My version is 2.5.26498, ToB included. No mods, except BG2 Fixpack from Gibberlings Three. Haven't tried re-installing yet, seems a bit drastic to me, but if you think it might solve the problem...

Well, I reinstalled BG and the problem was somehow solved. At least, until I put back that BG2 Fixpack. It seems that some modifications included in those fixes are causing the problem. However, I really want to keep some fixes active, since they correct quite a few smelly bugs. What should I do?

Gibberlings Three. I also tried something from their Tweaks pack - all works fine there.

I had the same problem upstairs in De'Arnise Keep. Seems it's a problem with some golems.

Try uninstalling "Paws from Shapeshifting Can Not Be Dispelled" entry from fixpack. That helped me, maybe it will you too.
