Recently, I was having some problems with Shadows of Amn. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and this is where I ran into some problems.
After uninstalling, I put the disc into my drive, planning on reinstalling the game. But the launch menu came up, and install wasn't in the options. It had the options I would have had if I hadn't uninstalled the game(Play, Configure, etc.)
When I clicked on the Play option, a message would come up saying I should configure the game before playing, but when I pressed OK, the configuration menu didn't come up. Also, none of the other options on the launch menu work.
I checked my C drive, and found that I still had a Shadows of Amn folder in my programfiles/blackisle. But it was empty. I figure I have to restore these files in order for Shadows of Amn to work again. But, I don't know how I'm supposed to get them. I can't install the game, since it says that it isn't uninstalled.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Or perhaps a place to get the game files back, without having to buy a whole new copy of the game?
Problems with SoA
It looks like you have a corrupt registry, buying a new game won't help. Hopefully one of our members is a registry expert and can help. Maybe this thread should be in the technical support forum.

No expert I, but this has worked for me:
Type regedit in the Run field, and run it.
Do a registry backup.
Do a search for all mentions of baldur. Delete each as it occurs.
Exit, and reboot. See if that helps.

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
As an alternitive for Fable's story you could also follow this path.
Note that a registry backup isn't listed there, but is a good thing
. Even so use this with care. If done wrong, it comes back to bite you.... HARD
