Please help! Bug while "Ming must die" and a question about deinstallation.

Post by Rod_Redblood »

He Everyone,

I'm using the official patch and the v4.04AT 'True' Unofficial Patch. I think that this unofficial patch is causing all my trouble.

I'm playing "Ming must die" I put three statuses in the right place (photos 1,2,3) when I want to placed the "cat" on the pedestal (photo 4) the option "give" is not available (photo5). Does someone know what to do?

My second question how to deinstall completely “Vampire” so no trace of the “ v4.04AT 'True' Unofficial Patch” would be left in the system?

I'm really getting piss off with this game. In Poland where I live games (software) is very expensive . This game is about seven days of work form me.

Regards from Poland!

If you want to completely uninstall it, here is the drill:

1) Uninstall in the normal way.
2) To be sure, check the folder where VTMB was installed to make sure it's gone (normally C:\Program Files\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines).
3) Now to be absolutely certain it's all gone delete the registry hive. Open RegEdit (click start/run, type regedit, and click OK.

Regedit looks a lot like a file browser. Find the following hive:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines

And delete it. Now your computer has no record that VTMB was ever on it.

I would advise installing to the 1.2 offical patch and playing through, and then advancing slowly. Others may be able to tell you the relative stability of the "True" patches versus the "Unofficial" ones. I have never played either.

Another more easy option would be to install the unofficial patch on top of the "true" patch. The bug you mentioned never happened with it and hopefully all other issues should be solved too. If you want to stay true to the game like it was released, just choose the "basic" version of the unofficial patch...

It Works :)

Hi Wesp5,
Another more easy option would be to install the unofficial patch on top of the "true" patch. The bug you mentioned never happened with it and hopefully all other issues should be solved too. I did that and now it works. Thank you very much for your help.
