My cleric and Mage have gained new spells in their inventories. How do they put them in the spellbook and scroll so that they can memorize them? Thanks.

On the left hand side of the screen there should be two book icons in the menu - one of these is for cleric spells, the other is for mage spells. Select your cleric or mage, then click on the right book icon to open the spell book. Now just clik on the spells you want to memorise and they will fill up empty spell slots, changing pages in the book will change the level of the spells you are selecting. To clear a spell slot, just click on that spell slot and it will remove the memorised spell from it.

Hope that makes sense, I'm half asleep lol.

That covers memorizing spells, to get them into your spellbook rightclick on the spell and select Learn spell (not sure about name). Note that there is always a chance to fail so you may want to consider saving first.
Also note that this only goes for mage spells. Priests already know all spells their class allows.

Also, get this nifty magic called "Manual". It's the greatest spell in the entire game.
