Sword of Myrloch Vale - SPOILER

I got the sword, returned to Mandals corpse, but there is no spirit as it says in the walkthrough. Mandals spirit is supposed to be there to send me on a mandrake root quest. Am I missing something?

I assume you went back to [url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/icewinddaleii/walkthrough/dragonseyeleveltwo.php"]area 2 from the walkthrough[/url]. Had you also already defeated the Wyvern where the root shouold be ([url="http://www.gamebanshee.com/icewinddaleii/walkthrough/dragonseyelevelone.php"]the entrance being in Area 3 of Level 1[/url])?

If the ancient Wyvern was already defeated, then maybe reloading the game/ or the area of Level 2 might help. Otherwise it seems like a bug I've not encountered before.
