All isometric games - Bars of fuzzy pixels

Post by Kree »

with ALL of my isometric games (DnD or otherwise) I am getting wierd bars of 'fuzz' over the screen, with the bars stretching vertically - I can still play with them ,they are just slightly annoying
Its happening with all my isometric games no matter how many times I reinstall them and it definantely isnt my screen - it even carried over to my new computer rig

Above is a sort of example of the bars (if you can imagine the screen ends at the top of the bars and the outermost bars)
They are seethrough but they just fuzz all of the surrounding pixels
I tried taking a screenshot but it isnt clear enough

Have you tried any other games to see whether this problem still persist? It sounds like a hardware problem from what I can tell. I ever had a similar problem happen when I play all games and it turned out to be my graphics card.

Purely isometric games, mostly BG, IWD, Fallout you know

Battlefield 2142 is fine, Company of Heroes is fine, City of Heroes is fine

Its just weird-Ive tried different resolutions all the different settings and the problem just keeps on persisting in the games I play the most - Even happened when I changed CD's, i.e I had to buy a new BG and the problem still arises

What about re-installing your older graphics drivers (head over to TweakGuides for more information on how to do this)? I know older games tend to perform much worse on newer drivers.

What video card do you have?

Also, have you tried to upgrade/downgrade your DivX?
