The max for stats is 40. There are some potions, mostly random.
You don't need to cheat your stats. Item distribution throughout the game is a bit uneven, so you will find some pretty decent stat-increasing items as you get further along. Don't forget to buff up your characters with temporary stat-increasing spells - most of them have good duration.

Spoiler (???)
Hi all, Im new here to Gamebanshee.
I'm a fan of BG, I won BG I and II with several diferent parties and solo chars.
Im playing IWD II now and I have a doubt related to this one...
*Spoiler*(?)
I've read there are attribute transference potions, or at least they are in the item list codes, the question is, you find these ones while normally playing IWD II ? or only the ones of -2 con +1 wis and +2 wis -1 dex ?? For these two are the only ones I've seen in the walkthroughs, the others like +1 char -1 dex and +1 con are only in the IWD I walkthroughs.
Thanks in advance

There's a potion on a Werewolf/merchants body that gives +1 to WIS but -2 to CON.
There's a potion in Battlesquares that gives +2 WIS but -1 DEX.
There's a bonus for Clerics of Bane where they receive a +2 to WIS.
There's a bonus for Paladins where they receive a +1 to STR and WIS.

wotan, please don't ask the same question in a PM as you do on the thread. It's annoying.
To answer your question, these are the only potions as far as I know that are in the game.

You will not find any of the transference potions from IWD1 in IWD2 unless they are found in IWD2 item lists. The two transference potions Klorox mentioned are the only transference potions that I've seen, to the best of my recollection. I have finished the game multiple times and explored every area.
Permanent stat-increasing or stat-altering potions aren't necessary. Many items increase one or more stats, you can permanently increase a stat of your choice by one every four levels, and there are numerous spells to increase stats (especially physical stats) temporarily.

The -2 Con +1 Wis is found in the werewolf area, but not on the werewolf. It's in the Aurilites' hoard area on the second level of that map. I believe the Battlesquares potion is random.

Klorox, I wasnt sure you would read this thread again, and you said you had info about it, thats why the PM; if it bothered you my appologies then....
Aerich, the other transference potions -are- in the IWD2 item lists, but in BG2 there were also items from BG1 that you couldnt find anywhere in the game, only by cheating in the itemcode. That's why I was questioning.
The battlesquare potion is random you say? so there you could obtain the other transference potions? All the walkthroughs I've read speak about the +2 wis -1 dex one.
Ah Klorox!! Now I just read your black-written spoliers... didn't notice them until now

The Battlesquares potion isn't random, AFAIK. I've found it every time.Aerich wrote:You will not find any of the transference potions from IWD1 in IWD2 unless they are found in IWD2 item lists.
