Hi there, just wanted to discuss the abilities in BG2. I don't know whether they are ToB only (as in can be found on SoA too if ToB is installed)
checked the site, it doesn't give much information on it, just a print screen of what can be seen in the game. Checked the forum for previous threads, couldn't find any.
If we could just discuss these abilties, at the moment i've only encountered them as a fighter (my first game), so i don't know but wouldn't mind discussing those for other classes.
I've gone for whirlwind attack, i've made a save before i took this decision so if it was a rubbish one could always go back to it.
edit:
my mages are also at the special abiltiies bit. so actually i do want to discuss those

Don't forget to use our search function on abilities. There's a lot that hasn't got much to do with your question, but also a lot that does. I'm sure you'll get fresh responses, here, though you may want to consider editing your intiial question to narrow the field of inquiry.
In any case, I'm sure you'll get plenty of responses.

Well you have to have ToB installed but once you do, you also encounter them in SoA. They are ussually called high level abilities (hla). Every class gets them once you reach 3 million xp. IIRC with a multiclass you need 3 mil per class.
Mages and priests get quest level spells. You have to memorize them just like ordinary spells (they fall under level 9 spells). Other classes gain them under the star symbol. You can read some over the usefullnes from the different hlas here

Yes, Summon Planetar is so powerful that almost ranks as cheese, in certain circumstances. Especially if your mage is employing other spells to multiply his/her presence. Throw in Timestop, and you have the ability to win the bowling tournament even before it's started.Crenshinibon wrote:Summon Elemental is a priest ability. For mages I strongly recommend Summon Planetar.
Use All items is very good for a non-magic thief.
