Athletic stats???
What sort of athletic stats do you need to be able to get around in the Naga Relic area? I have spent about 10 hours leaping about and hitting the water. I have even tried pushing up the stat to 40 using the character modifier, The only jumps I have been able to complete were the ones coming from the teleporter, straight up the center turning right and getting on to the circular stairway and over to the locked doors by the Relic. Trying to get the jump from the centre to the walkway to work around to the key is a total failure. I have printed off the walkthough but it doesn't really help I'm afraid. Oh for a "Levitation" spell!!! ....I'm starting to look longingly at Morrowind again!!!

I pumped my athletics up but not to 40! Are you sure it was the athletics that you notched up and not your strength or agility? Also take a closer look at the walkthrough b/c it is totally dynamic and tells you exactly where you have to be in order for your jumps and climbs to work, not just the words but closely look at the automaps b/c that was what helped me the most.

Yes it was definitely the athletics that I increased, and this is the walkthrough I was following..although it doesn't mention anything about where you should stand. http://www.gamebanshee.com/dungeonlords ... icarea.php
Also my char STILL can't make the jump across the trap floor to get to release Valdane in the level above this on, and it gets real boring going around the same cave complex for hours on end.

My understanding is that the athletics skill doesn't change the distance you can jump. The trap door jump can be difficult, but the jumps in the relic area should be easy. Are you running before jumping, or do you always stop first?

for the trap door jump..
No your height isn't enough - on purpose. You should have remembered this from the elven trials and the columns there (..and it becomes more obvious at one area in the Druid Temple). Basically your character jumps far enough so that he grabs the ledge with his arms extended and then climbs up to the ledge.
Like many of these jumps (and they get a LOT harder in the Shadow Realm).. you really should have a "crystal of time" to time it well. Basically you want to jump when your character's foot is about a foot off of the jump precipice (as a running jump of course).
