Speak Your Mind

Post by friend_al_23 »

In this forum, is it really okay to spam and flame here? How about those offensive words? Do we need to censor it still? or is it okay?

Read the Forum Rules - they should explain most of it :)

Basically - yes you can do off-topic talk in SYM (spam-somewhat) as long as you don't post excessive spam - ei. post containing non-comprehesive(sp?) words (ei. lkjdflkjsad) or contains numbers (post 1, post 2 etc.)
Flaming and offensive words should also be kept out.
As it states in the rules - use common sence.

Common sense would be better if I understand the language.

I am not an English-speaking person. Yes, I do speak the language, but not that well.

Well neither am I - well not as primary lauguage anyway :)
But generally - regarding SYM, just act the way you want other people to act towards you, and you should be fine :)

Not exactly a good advice but I get what you are trying to say.

Basically, don't post what you don't want other people to say to you in the real life. Posting online is not much different from talking in a pub, office, school, etc.

For example, we don't want to see the extreme attack on people's race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, etc., using rude words on purpose, post links to porn sites (or anything offensive).

About language, please try to post in English, unless you want to know something but cannot find the correct words. In that case, some one will help you. I mean, there were a few people who made conversation in their native language long time ago, but it is not fair for majority of people here. Or, if I post something really offensive and rude in Japanese because most people cannot understand, that is also not fair for others.

Having said that, half (or more) of members here are non-native English speakers (I'm not), so don't worry about your English. ;) Just have a fun!

Personally, I think "making rude comment on other members' English grammer and spelling" should be prohibited in this forum.... :D

I had this discussion once from the other board. It's not a flame war. We just don't understand each other.
