I just finished S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl and had to put Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars on hold for now as I'm pretty busy at the moment. Currently playing Tomb Raider: Anniversary demo and Penumbra: Overture demo.

Currently playing Master of Magic in DOS-Box ... one of my all time favorite games.
Fun thing is there is another MoM nut at work, so we compete a bit about the game and talk strategy etc when we should be working
Fun how a game from 94ish can still bring so much quality game play compared to newer games.
So I'm sitting here with a Intel Core Duo, 4 gig of RAM and a GeForce 8800 something ... and playing a 13 year old game

I have never heard of that game before. What is it all about? Well, anyway, on the topic of DOS-based games, I'm revisiting some of those games such as The Lost Vikings, Prince of Persia 1&2, Flashback (CD version) and The Adventures of Robin Hood.Xandax wrote:Currently playing Master of Magic in DOS-Box ... one of my all time favorite games.

I just finished Flashback (CD version) and currently playing The Lost Vikings. I enjoyed that game very much. Makes me wonder why I didn't pick this game up when a friend of mine demoed it many years ago. Let's just say that this is the first game from Interplay that I've played.

Master of Magic is a civilization type game which takes place on 2 planes (1 magic and 1 "real world like".)
Several types of magic exists Life, Death, Chaos, Nature and Sorcery (very similar to Magic:The Gathering ... not sure on the time line though).
So you must improve your cities and your magic while "conquering" the world against computer enemies.
You have a somewhat tactical battle view, where the combat takes place, and you can augment your armies with heroes which have various abilities and can be buffed with artifacts to be very powerful.
It is quite a good game, for its age.
So if one liked civilization and colonization (hmm, now that's a game I should track down again), and magic aspect - then MoM is a wonderful little game.

Still playing The Lost Vikings, Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, Tomb Raider: Anniversary and Star Wars: Republic Commando. Not at the same time, though.

Currently I reply games Till new ones come out for Gc and Xbox. Fable TLC and Halo 2 are my most used games right now.

Hello and welcome to the forums, Maggie.maggie60 wrote:Hi-
May I ask a question about Fable? If not just take it off. I would like to know if Fable is a point and click, meaning mouse controlled game?
Thanks
Maggie
To answer your question, it's a no. Fable plays more like a 3rd person real-time RPG and you use both the mouse and keyboard for movement.
To be on topic, I'm currently playing Call of Duty 2 (replay), Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars and Beyond Good & Evil.

Started playing Beneath a Steel Sky. I'm almost done with my second playthrough of Stalker, then I'll wait for the 1.1 patch for a third one. Finished Tomb Raider Anniversary a couple of days ago. Then there's Darwinia in which I got stuck on one of the last levels, and, last but not least, temporary on a hiatus, Arcanum.
What do you want?

Tee hee. I'm playing my *cough* second adult game (the first one being $extetris at college). I'd write down the name if I was able to pronounce/read the title.. (Korean, Japanese, whatever) but I obviously can't. I found it already installed in a local uni network here. I'm not sure if that's legal, but I'm basically running it directly from a networked computer - using someone else's harddrive, that is basically like borrowing their computer, right? Anyways..
The graphics are fairly.. PG though. And cheesy. I had expected more drawings too, but they just reuse a lot of material. Dialogue, dialogue, dialogue, that's what this is basically. And surprisingly little Engrish. Very few actual choices in-dialogue though. Very tedious to read through all of it. By Asian standards I think this is still considered a type of RPG.
Yeah. Weird. But I thought it was fun mentioning here since nobody actually talks about games that have something other than a violence rating.

Playing the Godfather right now with a bit of the Sims 2. I find The Godfather not a bad game, except that it's plagued with frame rate issues.

I have just gone through Okami. Fought the last battle in tears. I thought the game was balanced well between the sad, tearful scenes (there are quite a few of those) and humour (dancing old men etc). And the graphic and music were fantastic.
Now, I have to go through again.

Kind of postponed my playthrough of the Godfather and currently playing Medal of Honour: Pacific Assault. It isn't as good as the Call of Duty series but it's a pretty decent game nonetheless, and a nice human tone to it.
