one time i got the hk chassis from the droid merchant on nar shada and was able to assemble hk.has this happened to anyone else

Kodin always has one part of HK, afaik. Normaly, you can get...
- one part at Peragus
- one at the Telos pole
- one from Kodin on Nar Shadaa
- one with T3-M4 when stealing Voogas Codes (also on Nar Shadaa)

You can also get an HK-47 part on Dantooine from Akkere and on Onderon from the Droid who sells droid parts.
