Where can I find the Shade Lord, or whoever that's responsible for the killings in Umar Hills? Does it only come out at night? Help please, Thanks
The Shade lord is not in Umar Hills , you just get the quest there. Follow the directions the mayor gives you.

The Shade Lord is indeed in the Temple Ruins.
If you have explored the area of the Umar Hills, you should have found a note saying something about dark figures on a path hours north of the Umar Hills. This indicates another map, north of the Umar Hills. Just go north on that map, and exit there. It should reveal the Temple Ruins on your overall map. That's where you can find your actual goal.
