Fallen Rangers

Post by Ben_Albright »

Hello All,

I was just wondering if there was a penalty for rangers letting their reputations drop too low or for them failing the trails in hell. Do they loose ranger abilities? As an aside, which makes for a stronger character, a half elf cleric/ranger or a human stalker that duals to cleric after level 9? Cheers,

Ben

Yes, Rangers (and Paladins) lose their special abilities when their rep drops too much (below 6 IIRC). And you won't get them back even if your rep becomes higher again, leaving you with a pc that's essentially a secondhand fighter.

If you only have the official patches you don't become fallen when you choose differently from what the game developers want you to in hell. You just become neutral evil.
I don't think that stalkers can dual to cleric, try it out first.
A ranger who was dualed to cleric at level 7 is superior to the multiclass for the longest time of the game, only right after the start and late in ToB the multiclass will be superior.
