Anyone tried Desecration of Souls?
Just that. The mod's forum appears to contain nothing but a few very brief posts by the designer. (I don't fault them for this. Chosen of Mystra has apparently set up a new site, and the forums have just started running. There appear at this point to be no imports of previous forum material.) I'd like to know about its compatibility with other mods, how well it plays, and how creative it is.

DoS should be compatible with any Weidu mod. The newer versions above 2.50 were made friendlier with most big mods like the Big Picture.
SPOILERS!
There is a new inn to explore. A house that was not accessible in The Slums District is now "explorable". Its located in the northern part of the map south of the northern entrance. A screen shot can be found at the forums for the location of the entrance.
There is a new quest to find a missing magical book. It begins by asking Gabrielle in The Dwarven Hammer, the new inn.
There are four new stores in the mod, one of them is in the Temple District. Another one is in the Five Flagons Tavern in the Bridge District.
This mod adds in Artemis Entreri who was not added in the original game. Unfinished Business also adds in Artemis.
Also additional enemies have been added in the Copper Coronet and in the slaver headquarters.
Lord Ashram in the Dwarven Hammer has a quest in finding his lost bust of Mystra.
There is random treasure and encounters in the SoA portion of the game.
There are additional and harder enemies to fight. The Copper Coronet has added guards, the slaver headquarters has harder and better armed enemies. The Mencar Pebblecrusher and Captain Dennis encounters are harder to fight and they have better armed, better hit points, etc.

How is the writing? Is it both of good quality, and does it fit within the general style used by Bioware within the game?
Are the quests reasonably balanced, or incredibly difficult, or Monty Hauls?
Are the items in the stores well balanced?
In advance, thanks.

I played it. The quests are reasonable. Some of the encounters are hard so you have to think tactics before you engage. An example is in his last screen shot he posted.
Some of the items in the stores are under priced considering how powerful they are.
The Hammer Brothers encounter was pretty funny that is before you get your butt handed by them. They're a tough trio to fight.

I've just installed this mod, but can't find the new tavern in the slums anywhere. I checked the CoM site, and no help there. Where the post says 'image of location of the new tavern', there's no image anywhere.
So far I haven't found any of the new traders either, again, CoM no help at all. They seem to have abandoned support for all their mods some time ago.
I also installed CoM encounters, that worked out OK, but only managed to find two of the traders, one in Waukeen's Promenade, the other in the Umar(?) hills. Maybe they are duplicates of the DoS traders? I must say that some of the items in this mod are well over cheesed.
PS Well I found it by the simple expedient of using the console to move to the area. Could have been a nice mod if, like CoM Encounters it wasn't over-loaded with uber items. I got into a fight in the pub, and having wacked everyone, was appalled at the ridiculous items they were carrying. Heck one guy was toting Gram!!! Not recommended.
