Anyone ever pumped scribe?
Thinking about doing a wizard, but only if I can get his spells to the point where they come back supa fast. XD Like, my cataclysm comes back in maybe.. 10 second. Weaker spells regenerating at a rate of maybe once every 2 or 3. Has anyone ever made a wizard with that much scribe? I'm curious to know how much it would take. XD
Bargain over Scribe
If you put about 5 points into bargain, you can make money selling the spells then buying them back cheaper. Stack up a few thousand charges for every spell quickly. Start with 5 or 10 charges, sell the stack to someone like the priest in Arindale, buy it back twice and then repeat. You can make millions in gold and have thousands of charges for every spell.
Plus, the shopkeeper will then have a stack of fully charged spells for sell. If you ever do happen to run out of charges, just trade it in for a new fully charged stack.
Then you can save all your points for you magic skill to make your magic attacks more effective.
or not.

Like most skills without several learning bonuses.. there is a practical limit in a normal game. In fact only the Wizard, Kenjassi, and I *think* the War Witch get a learning bonus in Scribe. I'm guessing that even with a high intelligence that practically speaking it tops out at less than 20. I also don't know what the regen will be like, but I seriously doubt that it will come anywhere near 12 sec.s for replenishing 1 Cataclysm.

Like Pitbrat, I think the more spells you have, the less you need scribe.
I have "cranked" scribe before, both with and without the editor, to between 30 and 200. At that level the cost for even one more point is huge, we're talkin' hundreds of millions of advance points.
Being that you need about a million +/- adv. points to advance another level.....well, I'll let you do the math
Getting your scribe up to 15 or 20 will allow you to recharge your lower spells fairly quickly. Spells like fireball and ice shards, but cataclysm, on the other hand, still takes a while to recharge. Something like 3 or 4 in a complete rest cycle at a campfire. The fun/fast one to watch recharge is fire burst That one recharges in a hurry

Indeed it does. It is also the one lower level spell that remains fully useful throught the game. (It is my ranged weapon of choice.)

I used it for awhile because I was farming the vale of ruin for xp. I didn't buy unlimited spells although I did have high bargain/honor so I had a lot of spells. I made a rule with myself to not exploit a game insanity (although I wish merchants in real life would do that). Of course farming the vale of ruin was itself kinda cheesy.
Anyhow scribe at the range of 15 or so wasn't that great. You noticed spells came back, but considering that I was a wizard it didn't come back near fast enough since I was killing primarily with spells. I did notice in the maze that the mega tree clusters spawned infrequently enough that my cataclysms would recharge but thats just because they didn't spawn much.

Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
