Crafting Question

I have been too busy playing to attempt crafting, but have a toon or two with skill in weapon/armor crafting, however I can't seem to attempt to craft anything at all. I have placed the mold, ingots, etc in the workbench, but it does nothing. What am I missing? I have seen a reference to a "blacksmith hammer" is this a requirement? If so, where do I get one?

After putting the mold and any resource onto the workbench you need to activate a smith hammer (right mouse button). The first smith hammer can be found in Fort Locke.
