"The procedure point _AIL_set_sample_volume@8 could not be located in the dynamic link libary mss32.dll."
This is what i get everytime i try to play NWN Diamond. Ive read a few things on how the mss32.dll is in the wrong place, but i dont know where its supposed to go. If anyone knows, please tell me. Im running Vista, so not sure if thats the problem or if its something else entirely. thanks.

I suggest you re-install the game. Sometimes, during the installation, some files tend to get left out. If that doesn't work, try looking for that file in DLL-files. Hope this helps.

Try to update both your graphics and audio drivers? It might help.

Fixed It !!
OK, so i got it fixed, thanks to someone on another site. but im gonna post what i did incase theres anyone else out there who is havign the same problems i was.
1. dl the critical rebuild and run it.
2. right click on the NWN shortcut and click on properties
3. go to compatibility tab and set to run as administrator (not sure if this is required, but it works for me)
4. click on shortcut tab, and toward the bottom, click on the "Open File Location" tab
5. find the nwnmain1
6. right click on nwnmain1 and open properties
7. go to the compatibility tab
8. set it to run program compatible mode for XP
9. set to run as administrator, click apply
i ran the game directly from the nwnmain1.exe and it runs perfectly, actually better then it does on my XP computer. havnt tried it from the shortcut on the desktop yet, but will post if it doesnt work from desktop. thank you DesR85 for the help, i greatly appreciate it.
UPDATE: if you try to run the game from the shortcut on the desktop, youll get the incapability error again, so you have to go from the nwnmain1.exe, at least, i do.

As someone who has just got the game working after three weeks of thinking very bad thoughts about Windows Vista (thank you thank you thank you chvygrl759), could I suggest we make this thread a sticky? Or at least make a "How to get NWN working on Vista" thread and sticky that in the NWN forum?
