You probably don't have a high enough skill to persuade the Hutt. I don't think I persuaded him when I did it for the same reason.

It happens to me too though, I used a cheat to make my persuade 99, and it didn't work, trying several times too. I think there has to be some sort of glitch

I always thought you just ouldn't persuade Hutts (like Jabba in Episode 6).
So I kinda just went along with it; I didn't know you could actually persuade him.
Here is a wise saying from Luke Skywalker, "NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!" And that was a word from Luke. Have a nice day! :)

Well I have a guide book that, when you do the quest, says to persuade him. That means that you should be able to. Unless it's only the Xbox version you can do it.

You can't have those on Taris as you haven't been trained in the Force yet.

Hutts are difficult to persuade. But as Taris is the first planet you visit it won't be that difficult. Just make sure you have at least a 1 or above skill on Persuade and you will get a chance to convince him. And a little cheat, save your game before you speak to him and reload it as many times as it may take to finally succeed to persuade him.

I play the Xbox version and I have never been able to persuade a Hutt no matter what my skill level. I always thought I failed because Hutt's are very difficult to persuade. But who knows.

Force Persuade

This is for the xbox version...

When first on Taris i skipped the dueling ring side missions, i did not even enter that part of the cantina.
Later on in the game when i had learned force persuade (dominate mind level) i used the fighter simulation glitch with HK47 and used the galaxy droid (?) to go to Taris again.
I visited the cantina again and found that i could force persuade the hutt to give me more of the cut. Unfortunately the force persuade failed so i had wasted the game save as i could never leave Taris.

Yeah...i spend too much time finding these things out...need to get out more..

i also got zax with the bounties and zorba with the swoop racing...

this is the PC version but my friend has the xbox version and said that hes done it. but then again Robbi is kinda a windbag and half of what comes out of his mouth is mynock muffins.

it but you never know...
"Ke barjurir gar'ade, jagyc'ade kot'la a dalyc'ade kotla'shya...."
"Ke nu jurkad sha Mando'ade, burc'ya!"

the only hutt i've pursuaded is the one in the lower city anf i only got about 50 creds extra so realy you're not missing out on anything good:laugh:
HK-47: Can I break his neck now master? It's been a long time fantasy of mine...
Revan: Maybe later...
HK-47: Did you hear that meatbag? "I'LL BE BACK!"
Yuka Laka: Err, well... ah...

I don't know about the Hutt on Taris, but I was finally able to persuade the Hutt on Tattoine. Motta, I think it is.
