Kickin Beholder Butt!!! (spoilerish)

Post by kajjax »

Hey... found a REALLY cool butt kicking tactic for Beholder tail punting! Use the cloak of mirrors!! I had Keldorn souped up with boots of speed, a belt of Frost Giant Strength and Jhor the Bleeder... he made short work of the entire screen!!! None of their spells could even touch him. Although, it's best to kill off all of the elder orbs first (the only significant spell I saw that he was effected by was imprisonment... so keep a freedom handy) but only the elder orbs have that ability, then target the gauths, because they can cast hold person, and horror but do not cast dispell, what was interesting, I gathered up all of the gauths, beholders and elders by running around and having them chase me, then I started hacking away. The beholders would dispell almost endlessly all of the holds and fears that the gauths were casting constantly undoing their damage, the beholders actually made it easier to kill everybody off! took all of 5 minutes and freedom was only cast once... lol

Great job!

I once did the same thing with a party consisting of Boo (created with a cheat code) and five Skalds who cheered him on with their Skald Songs (all at the same time) while he killed every beholder and gauth in the lair. Boo only has 2 hit points, but I raised it to 7 hit points by giving him the Helm of Balduran. I also equipped him with the Cloak of Mirroring and the Ring of Gaxx. He used his own teeth as a weapon, which are actually more formidable than your average +5 shortsword. Had to watch out for those Imprisonment spells, though. Never underestimate a miniature giant space hamster.

Hate to break your bubble, but that's been well-known for a couple of years now. :) Still, fun to see someone more figuring it out on his own, keep up the experimenting and learning of the oh-so-wonderfully-flexible game we all love and hold dear. ^^
