at the elder scrolls forums there was someone who killed vivec at lvl 1 and said "next up, dagoth ur" but i never heard about him killing it. as for me, i never really get into the main quest until i'm about level 30-35. i just like all the items that factions give me. so i have to get those before doing anything. which usually means i have to level up a lot so i can get to the rank i need.

My record for beating the game is fifteen minutes. I think I was level three or so.

How many of you accomplished this WITHOUT using any cheats?

I have.

That's kind of insulting... >.>

There's a guy that beat it in seven minutes and thirty seconds.

Here's his YouTube video. When the screen goes black it's either an intervention spell or a loading screen. Here's the link: YouTube - Morrowind Speedrun

Just a reminder to keep things civil. Let's try to keep the posts on topic without the thread turning into an argument on cheating/not cheating. :)

My record for beating the main quest is 9 minutes and 43 seconds. All at level one no cheating, just lots of chitin armour ;)

Well the guy in that video clearly cheated, and I'm not referring to the fact that the video was accelerated. Equipping Sunder without Wraithguard = minimum 51 damage, equipping Keening likewise, total 102 damage, maximum total 250, average about 175. So it's obvious he used the CS beforehand to remove the scripts on those items.

And how many hours did he (and you can almost guarantee it was a he, and about 13 or 14 probably) waste pllanning that, how many failed attempts? Why do people waste their time on such silly activities?

A friend of mine calls it "testosterone poisoning." I think she's at least partly right.. it's what happens when young teen males have no more constructive way of channeling their raging hormones. :p

On topic though, through normal play, and tackling the main quest first, I think my lowest level beating Ur was somewhere between 10 and 15, I can't precisely recall.
Not that I view this as "beating" the game...
It's practically impossible to truly "beat" a game like Morrowind. And why would you want to rush to climax just a few minutes in anyway?

too true, dragon. i think that it is silly to just race through the game. it just sucks the fun out of it. it is much more fun to just run through it. without cheating, and without shortcuts.

I'll leave this thread open, despite having been bumped (which we don't allow), if it sticks to the question posed at the top of the thread. If it's going to turn into a discussion of other matters, it will be closed. ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I just finished at level 58! :o
I took pleasure in wandering for hundereds of hours, randomly or while completing some of the many side-quests. It'd be a waste to cheat in order to be able to rush thru a game as rich in detail and texture, that has plots within plots within plots, such as Morrowind. But...whatever floats your boat. :)

and just to stay on topic, i was in the 40's i believe, but that was almost 2 years ago
