**Steps inside, knocks dust off of jacket, and looks around**
Well Kipi has done alright for himself.
What a great place to stop in after a long trip.
Hi gang, good to see you folks again.
Been a strange year for me, hope it finally settles down now.
Hey Kipi, how about a nice tall glass of fresh squeezed lemonade?

Hey Philos,
long time no see, I hope you are doing OK.
I can appreciate weird years.. I've just come through one of those myself, but for me, I also seem to be nearing the end of the gauntlet.
Anyway,
must run for now. We have yet another Open House (trying to sell our place) to finish preparing for. *sigh*

**Starts sipping on the lemonade**
Thanks Kipi,
Ahhh, now that's what I call a glass of lemonade.
I'm hanging in there. In addition to the craziness I experienced early in the year, I have a new position at work (with a LOT of additional responsibility). But it will mean a good raise once I achieve the position requirements.
Hi DW,
Thanks I appreciate that. I can kind of see the end of the tunnel. Glad you are nearing the end of yours. I understand your "pain" well (too well).
**raises glass** Here's to a quick and smooth sale. May this visitor buy!!
Thanks Kipi,

Do you get better salary now, or is it just new position with new responsibilities?

Well, I do think we get trice the payment in this period cause we are swamped with work. But normally it is just hour per hour.Kipi wrote:Well, at least in case of sunday, at least you get better salary from that day...

So at least there'll be a little extra in the paycheck but still - could have used th weekend

Yeah, I understand you. It's pretty annoying to sit at work when you were supposed to have free time to do what you wish... I know this personal experience.

Well, the story's more complex then so, and tells a tale of inexperienced coworkers, poor planning and all sorts of "fun" - leading to me taking it upon myself to make sure the launch of the project (which had media attention) were completed...... something I also plan on bringing up today to my boss.

So, in your company, extra money for working during sunday isn't written in stone?:speech:Xandax wrote:I was the only one on that project.
There were others at work on other projects ..... but people only started going to work in the weekend when they got extra money for it - I do it regardless![]()
EDIT:
Cursed be this laggy thing that university calls internet connection...

You're lucky it's laggy. When I went back home, the internet connection went down. Had to wait a while before going back online just now.Kipi wrote: Cursed be this laggy thing that university calls internet connection...![]()

My current connection at uni is like this:
- I connect, and log in with may username and password.
- I MAY be able to surf few moments (timeline ranging from 1 min to 30 min, and it's random)
- I lose connection, have to remove my wireless adapter and plug it back in - to get access to internet again. Of course, log in is required
- Again surfin, 1 min to 30 min depending on luck
- Repeat all these steps as many times as I want to be in internet.

The same can be said of my uni's connection as well, especially when there are many people using the computers. That's why I still prefer the home connection to that of the uni (obviously).

Nopes, usually people take it as time off at a later time.Kipi wrote:So, in your company, extra money for working during sunday isn't written in stone?:speech:

Only lately did we get direct economical reward for working in our weekends - and only if we've worked "enough" on the weekdays (so you do not just take all your work on weekends

And I thought I had it bad being stuck with dial up!! :speech:
Well, I "could" get DSL if I switched from my satellilte to a junk 26 channel cable network and then paid them $75.00 a month.
Kipi, I wasn't able to get back on line until tonight. To answer your question from the other day, Yes my new position will mean a pay raise thankfully. I just have to become fully qualified. Usually takes a few months to a year but I'm usually a quick study.
