Some suggestions for the patch (if your interested)
I have a couple of suggestions that (shouldn't) be too hard to implement, although I admit I don't know much about modding for VTMB.
As you would know, it's the atmosphere of the game that makes it, and one of the areas in the game that has the most atmosphere POTENTIAL but just dosen't quite make it is the graveyard in Hollywood.
The first time I entered it I was ****ting my pants, although it came up kinda short. The sheer volume of the zombies attacking the gate made it simply too hard to be freaky any more.
I would suggest:
a) adding a little mist on the ground so you can't quite see the zombies until they lurch to their feet.
b) a little less zombies attacking the gate, and more attacking you
c) perhaps the zombies could give a terrifying shriek when they jump on you?
d) a couple of dead "goths" lying around here and there, with some items on them to identify them as Giovanni's (which would explain why the zombies have been rising lately.) (This could activate a side quest to bring an item of some sort back to the graveyard after visiting the Giovanni mansion and performing a ritual which would permanently silence the rising dead... but it would also ressurct the dead Goth's and have them rise up and attack you, screaming!)
e) When searching for Ginger Swan's, perhaps a whispering female ghost could appear out the front of the Mausoleum and float inside, guiding you to where her grave is.
f) also, perhaps the first time you enter the graveyard you could spot a Nosferatu standing on top of one of the tombs, who promptly disappears. (ie. he is watching the entrance to the Warrens.)
Hope you find these suggestions thought-provoking!
cheers,
spiderspag

Scripting is not easy and for anything special you need to have custom made animations and we never figured out to edit these. Placing Yukie in the temple was hard enough .spiderspag wrote:Well all the models/sound files/animations are prolly already in game, all you need to do is script them. Anyhow, thanks for the consideration.
Yukie is in the temple?:speech: Where? give me a hint because I'm in Hollywood and in a couple of days I'll finish, yet again . By the way, this is why I keep playing this game the awesome patch, so many thanks for your hard workWesp5 wrote:Scripting is not easy and for anything special you need to have custom made animations and we never figured out to edit these. If you end up with Yukie living she will be in the first endgame temple level besides the door that leads inside. After you handle the first guards, you can decide to take her with you for the whole level. I did this because the unused dialogue of her I restored for it clearly showed that Troika intended to do something like this at one time.wailo81 wrote:Yukie is in the temple?:speech: Where? give me a hint because I'm in Hollywood and in a couple of days I'll finish, yet again .

Thanks, I'll be sure to look for her when I get there(I never let her die :angel . And I really don't care what Troika intended or not, 'cause I once the game it's yours you can do whatever you want with it. Nevertheless I try to stay as true to the original as possible and the usused Yukie lines I restored implied that this was supposed to happen. You'll see yourself!wailo81 wrote:And I really don't care what Troika intended or not, 'cause once the game it's yours you can do whatever you want with it.
Not so bad really.Judaeus Apella wrote:Not a very flattering name is it? lol (Well in english anyway) At first I misread and thought he meant the english meaning of yuckie or "yucky".
Yuki (there should be no e at the end) is pronounced yoo kee and means snow. It's most likely a nickname of Yukiko meaning snow child.
