These darn quests *May contain spoilers*

Post by CeciliaOfSweden »

First, I want to say that I need help with one of my quests and I hope that, if you want to proceed this surtain quest on your own, You should not continue to read this. You have been warned.

I need help with the Brother Kanker Quest, Related to the plauge bear.

My question is; How do you kill him? Is there any special weapon you should use? I have both the Brokk (or what the gun was named) 9mm and the shotgun.

Now, I almost killed him once with the handgun, But he managed to deal the final slash and killed me. This is the first and only time I've even been near to kill him. I have tried to back away while shooting, But then he only does that "charging" thing. Jumping does work, But only temporary.

Please, Help anyone?

Hi, first post here, but I've played VTMB for a long time. I guess you specialized in firearms. Well, to kill Brother Kanker with guns, look at the sides of the crucified man there are 2 wheels, activate them and then swim through the hole in the ground you'll be at the other side of the gate and you can blast him, hope it helps :) . See ya

Spoiler
You can always use your Blood Bluff ability to boost your stats during the fight. If you have Auspex, it also can help a little. :)

All you have to do is run in circles around the pillars. You'll run faster than him so you'll quickly come up behind him, then you slash him in the back with your knife. Then run to another pillar and do that over and over. Easy as pie... er blood pie. :) *yuck*

If anyone has trouble with the baddie you have to kill in the art gallery, you can loose him by running around the paintings. When he can't find you, he'll walk to the center of the room. That’s when you sneak up behind him with a stealth kill. :)

The only trouble I ever had with a boss was the werewolf. I had no idea what I was supposed to do till I accidentally ran across a tutorial for killing it on YouTube. I was getting really aggravated too.

Yes, that bloodguardian was a real meanie >(

Thank you for your help. I will try out both running around the pillar and the one where you could swim tactics and see witch one that works out best =)

And again, Thank you for your help. I will let you know if I manage to kill him and what method I used.

Happy Hunting :p

Both tactics are very good, I tried them yesterday with my malkie, but I forgot to tell you something if you do the swimming. It's easier if you don't trigger the cut scene first, just don't go through the middle and activate the wheels before.
You learn something new every time you play :)

LOL, I just tried my tactic of playing run around the pillar with a weak character and she slashed him to ribbons. He's kinda dumb... Sad really. Was hoping some of these bosses would be a bit more of a challenge, intelligence wise. They really should have waited till the newer version of the Source Engine was ready, and been more careful with their contract. Never trust Valve, ever.

Yeah, I'm playing a Toreador Female, And I think thats the only clan you can actually get through the whole game whiteout fighting (Except when you have too). I became Toreador after answering that row of questions. Fun!

But I agree with Apella, There should be more intelligence challenges bosses.

Speaking of that, When I was going to slash the paintings and the guard was standing there watching, I simply seduced him. Then, when he was sitting behind the counter when you were going to meet the prince, I said to myself behind the computer (Except that I laughed a bit) "Noooo! I tought I was rid of you!"

:D Good times

easier solution

if you shoot at where you think Kanker is from OUTSIDE the portcullis, he charges out of the room and comes to get you and you can use the third dimension to evade him.

the easiest and safest way to commit fratricide is to jump up on the pallets and shoot him from there - he has no missile attack and you can even use the .38 to deal with him.

if you have already done the other plague bearer - (forgot my jimmy-hat) - then you need to go into the trapped room to collect your next clue. if you have not seen madame, you can simply leave after lancing the Kanker.

You usually get zero injury that way.

the pallets are those flat wooden things that are stacked up blocking the sewer to the left of where you first drop down and enter the area. you can use the shotgun before dropping down BTW - sometimes you can even trigger Kanker before entering the wet area. jumping up on the stacked pallets is above Kanker's reach.

as for the third dimension - I was referring to using height above the enemy - on a flat surface, you confront the enemy on the same plane (2 dimensions), but when you use height for advantage, you are using the third dimension.

a good tactician uses the topography of the battlefield to gain advantage - hence using height against a non-ranged weapon enemy.
