guard killing

Post by Cazza Fable »

i have heard that killing guards is a good way to make money.

I am a level 3 Nord with a nordic claymore and full bonemold but with imperial chain greaves. My armor rating is around 24.

What type of guard would I be able to easily kill?

I have heard that I need to taunt a guard into attacking me first so I don't get punished for it.

Thanks

Cazza Fable - at level 3; not sure you would defeat any guard
Sure he could. While it would be nice to have the higher attributes at higher levels, the important thing is building up a single weapons-based stat very high. Of course, surviving after you've got that kind of reputation won't be easy, and there will be a price on your head. But if you want to do it, just work up that weapons stat, and maybe an armor one to allow for retaliation. My favorite exercise for building armor is to stand in a river with plenty of fish, and let them take chunks out of me. This weakens the armor, but improves your armor level--and you can always go back to town for armor repair.

Unless the guards are pissed at you, of course.

... see, that's why I don't like to give advice :)

I guess I must be bad, because at level 3 or so I'm running for my life from
thugs/footpads/ruffians etc...
The guards whoop them.
So, I never even thought about fighting them ... not even sure what their armor/weapons would bring in trade

I do use the fish/hound/mudcrab/kangouri/alit "chew on me" strategy.

I'll leave the guard fighting to the good gamers ... refrain from giving unsupported advice :)

Unless you pay someone form the thieves guild to remove your bounty, could be pricey though

Which is why I wouldn't suggest going on a killing spree until you've gotten into the thieves guild and learned how to successfully cast mark and recall. Then you can recall from the scene of your crime to the thieves guild, pay for the fine to be removed, and go back to wherever you were, earlier.

Personally, I use a mod that makes all guild benefits very gradual and dependent upon guild advance, but then, I like to make things harder than they are in Morrowind. It's really an easy game to take advantage of.

But hey, you can still do the killing easily enough, if you want. :D
