I ran into some problems: The game would allow me to wield a No-Dachi + a Gnarled Staff +2. But would not let me wield a Barbtongue Runeblade + Gnarled Staff +2... I have no penalty from those weapons, nor from the armor, so has it something to do with strength?
An anwser telling me how Dual weapons exactly work would be most helpful.
PS: Wouldn't it be handy if the magic section would mention what spells don't work? Not everyone reads this forum..
How dual weaponry works

I had no idea you could even use the Gnarled Staff in the off-hand position. (note that there are better off-hand weapons, Kama of the Void, Kama of Flame, an importable light sword with a fire attack, and the Golden Wakizashi +1.)Project-404 wrote:I ran into some problems: The game would allow me to wield a No-Dachi + a Gnarled Staff +2. Hmm, I wonder if the Gnarled Staff qualifies as a "Blunt weapon" per the requirements for the Diabolic skill: Crushing Blow. If so, that would make it the only off-hand weapon (in-game) to do so.
Note: try out the Barbtounge runeblade with other off-hand weapons, if they don't work either then its the Barbtounge runeblade thats placing the restriction. Come to think of it, I believe the Blade of Death has this same limitation (i.e. it can't be used with dual-wielding).
In addition to No-Dachi's, the level 7 magic great swords will work for dual-wield (..and I *think* the Diamond Light Great Sword as well). (see the Daedroth Temple for those). Also the importable Demon blades will also work for dual-wielding.

I tried alot of things in combination with the Barbtongue Runeblade, but alas.
From Elven Swords of Speed to the most simple light dagger.
So I guess there are Heavy Weapons that cannot be used for Dual-Wielding, due to some unknown restriction.
Pitty, I wanted to finally be able to upgrade my weapons. Guess I'll have to use the editor...

Which editor and version of the game are you using? If you've got an editor for 1.5 that lets you choose what weapons (out of the entire list) to use without having to acquire them first, I'd love to have a copy.
