My Character and NPC's won't attack HELP!

Post by Creepy Monkey »

I can't figure it out. With the AI on or off, characters won't attack and their spells automatically fail. They just sit there and die even when I am directing their actions...they just won't attack!

The only thing I found out so far is if I use a shape change spell (from a scroll only) on one of my MU's they will attack. As soon as they go back to "normal" they stand around again, and all spells fail.

I'm really hoping someone can help me out with this. I've never had this problem before. It's been a while since I played the game but last time (on the same computer and same OS) I didn't have this problem.

If your haven't already you should patch your game, but beyond that I can't help. :(

Patched

I've installed all relative patches. Thank you though. I hope someone stumbles across this and can help.

The only thing that occurs to me is that the game is waiting for a dialogue trigger.

Spoiler:

For example, if you've entered the throne room in Sardush to confront Gromnir, nothing can happen until the conversation between Grominr and Mellisan has ended and Mellisan is dragged off. I've been in this, and other, situation when for some reason the script doesn't complete; in the above example I've had the conversation end, but Mellisan didn't leave, and I was confronted by your situation, my only solution was to go back to an earlier save.

Although if you don't have a earlier saved game, I found reinstalling the game worked and I still kept my saved games.

Thank you for all the help!

I really appreciate it. I simply imported a previous saved game and it took care of the problem. I believe it was probably some kind of dialog issue. I will be reinstalling for good measure. Thanks again.
