How to use diving pool?

in Temple of Tyr, we can see a device call "diving pool"

how to use it ?

It allows you to get back some plot items if you lost them.

The items appear automatically in the pool if the game "thinks" you've lost them, and it'll cost some gold to get the item back.
There is no way to define that items should appear there (without using the toolset), and not all (plot) items appear there.

does it appear "primary mission" quest item , or include sidemission items?

one time i lost cloak tower (many star cloak, chapter1)'s key, and when i check the pool, it is nothing there.

I never used it much myself (am a pack-rat in these games), but from what I recall it was rather random-ish.
I recall both critical/main plot items as well as side-quest plot items.

But I would think primarily main plot items finds their way into it.

i found some items with value 0 (unable to sell). will appear in it when lost.

I never really found much use for it either. But I do recall that if you drop something in the pool it will be there no matter what pool you go to. I there is something you would like to drop but are afraid of losing you could place it here knowing you could get it back later. As stated previously it will cost though.
