Fireball Spell

Post by sonny »

OK, another dumb question.

I've read on some of the threads that Fireball is a good spell. and the game manual list it as a level 3 Mage spell.

My mage (Dynaheir) is level 5 and has 3 known level 3 spells, but no Fireball. Is this one of those hard to find random scrolls, or one you have to buy. If it's one you buy, don't tell me where, just that you have to buy it. If it's random plz let me know that to.

I've now got the Necklace of Missiles now, but only use it on large groups because it cost so much to recharge.

Thanks again in advance. I see that I'm posting here more then anyone else. Is that a problem? I'm not spaming or flooding or what ever it's called, am I?

No question is dumb.

You CAN buy the Fireball spell but you can also find in various locations. Also, there is a wand that lets you cast your choice of Fireball or Agganazzar's Scorcher.

And no, you're not. You just happen to have more questions than anyone else, which is okay.

Thanks. Just wanted to make sure I was not becoming a pain in the butt.
If that happens, please let me know.

Just finished scanning the threads again, and read a post by SupaCat 0n 2-27-2006 that also answered my question. If I would have been more attentive I would not have had to bug you guys so soon. Sorry, thanks again.

If it makes you feel any better you can allways think about it as using my allotment of questions. I'm not using them anyway. Just lurking. *grines*

There are a couple of things to keep in mind. First of all, the Fireball spell can be replaced by a Wand of Fire, which will free up spell slots to use for other spells. Usually, I don't use a spell if it can be replaced by a wand.

Second of all, Specialist Mages cannot cast spells from an opposition school. Dynaheir is an Invoker (her school is Evocation), so I think her opposition schools are Enchantment and Conjuration. This means that she cannot learn spells such as Dire Charm (Enchantment), Flame Arrow (Conjuration), Ghost Armor (Conjuration), Hold Person (Enchantment), and Monster Summoning I (Conjuration), all of which are third level spells. You'll have to doublecheck the manual.

There is one around that can be acquired fairly early on in the game without buying it. There are also the random ones which you may or may not get depending on your luck. SPOILER If you had waited a bit longer before rescuing her, it would have been in her spell book.
