Hanging Screen problem
I just started a new game of IWD with imported characters - each level 7 or thereabouts. I cleared out the orcs, cleared out the bugs in the inn, dealt with Jhonen's Aqua Elf quest, gave the fisherman the caravan contract and delivered the supply list to Pomab. When I returned to Hrothgar he asked me if I was ready to go. I said yes, and the next screen loaded up. But when I arrived in Kuldahar Pass my characters just stood there. The guy near the bridge who normally approaches to ask if we are ok does not. All the slots are kind of blurred out and I can't click on anything. My characters complain about standing around, but I can't do anything! I noticed that after leaving Easthaven, there was no movie about the avalanche. What's going on, and how do I continue? I've tried reinstalling the game, but it still happens. I have HoW installed and I don't need the patches. Please help!

That's odd. Did you try any mods, or is this just the standard game?
When you did the re-install, what did you do next? Did you use the same saved game? If so, that could be your problem. If you don't go to another map (e.g. get the loading screen) from a saved game that has a corrupted file, the game doesn't have a chance to refresh data from the uncorrupted installation.
Have you tried switching around the graphics? Your problem is likely a graphics issue or a corrupted file. It's not a known bug that I can recall.
