1.05 patch 1.02?

Post by Moeror »

I downloaded the unofficial 1.05 patch to my 1.02 game and it still says 1.02 at the main menu. Is this normal?

Can't recall exactly, but as it's fanmade patch, it should be okay if the game shows that you are using 1.02 version.

Though, have you installed it correctly? Or, in more precise, how did you install it?

i think you shouldn't have patch 1.02 and then 1.05. You install the game and apply patch 1.05 right away. And even if you have 1.05 it is normal that it shows 1.02 version.

Actually, the best method is to install patches in a consecutive order, ie. 1.02b, 1.03, 1.04, etc, regardless of whether they're official or unofficial. Also, the game will alsways show the version of the last official patch, even if you have 1.05 installed. All of the unofficial patches can be found here.

Have you tried installing every single patch there is? That method always worked for me.

Yes, but there is increasing chance that the game comes totally bugged, and you almost unplayable. Happened to me few times, and I know several others who has experienced that as well. I suggest trying to install all the patches. If the game doesn't work, then just install 1.05 directly to 1.02 game, and see how well it works.
