Very weird bug

This has happened in two consecutive games so far while doing the Mae'var Guildhouse quest. It happens when I am told to retrieve the Necklace Of Talos and when I come back to give the necklace to Mae'var, there is a hostile thug inside the guildhouse. The thug is disposed of quickly, but there is a problem as the quest progresses. After I complete all the jobs that Edwin gives me and he tells me to see Mae'var for one last task, Mae'var's gang is all hostile towards me. I don't know why this keeps happening. This makes me unable to complete the quest properly because I can't talk to Mae'var. However this is easily fixed through ShadowKeeper by adding 2 to the "MAEVARJOB" variable, but it is slightly inconvenient.

I have a clean installation of BGII with ToB. Then I installed the official patch, baldurdash fix, baldurdash game text update, and dungeon-be-gone in that order.

Has anyone else experienced this before?

I have also been in a party with Korgan, Mazzy, and Jan for 19 days and 12 hours now and I have not had a single bit of banter between them.

Is this normal?
