I have it, and for about 3 hours as of this post.

Looking for certain instructions, first, before installing.

I bought my copy last night, but I'm disappointed. I'm disappointed by the fact that the game crashes before I can even leave the first section.
Now for the few minutes that I was able to play, I did notice that the game feels smoother. What also is very cool is the opening music. It has this upbeat foreboding sound to it.

Anyway, as soon as the boys in Obsidian's lab can figure out what is causing the crash and produce a patch than I'll get to play. :)

Have bought it a little while ago now, but so far I've only played the base NwN2 and not the MotB yet.

i have it and just finished it.

besides the dialogue bug which can be easily removed, i did not find any other critical bug in the game. just crashed once in the whole playing time. kk, lets get over the nagging first. i have the feeling that it was finished off rather quickly. its NOT buggy, but has some rough edges that could have been much smoother and a load of dialogues towards the end that are just text anymore but should have been audio... well i my eyes i guess...

for the rest... once i got used to the new... erm... character feeling, (you will find out when playing) i was caught by the storyline and towards the end i couldn't stop playing anymore. its a really great game, and capter 3 is pure gold!

enjoy!

Great game. finished it a week back... the gameplay actually 'makes' you think more about your options unlike the Original oc. But, that's the challenge in it. Everything 'im guessing' came 'n went smoothly - only froze once :( . Otherwise just some lag spikes in areas around town.

Noting one thing though, I recall finding more items in the original oc. but since it's just an add on, i guess there's few new added random drops. Just wished i could've found more nx1 based items besides those friken elemental essences :speech:

Apart from that, the storyline was good, got better as the game progressed. Like the previous expansions for nwn, it even left an opening for a 2nd nwn Xp. :)

Bought it a week ago, and I'm suffering from 'Restart Character Syndrome' - mostly because the game, so far, hasn't managed to draw me in at all.

I'm peeved that even imported characters don't keep their weapons. I'm peeved that they had to give me a Red Wizard of Thay who can't even cast Acid Arrow, meaning I can't enchant the weapons I find with acid damage. Furthermore, what REALLY gets me going is that all my characters from the OC are apparently SO specialized in their choice of weapons and fighting style ( Ranger Two-Weapon-Fighting with kukris, for example ) that finding the correct weapon is a pain in the rear.

Also, whoever thought up the deal with changing the camera styles by apparently deleting most of the options, needs to be stabbed. Repeatedly. What little I played I spent trying to find an angle that works.

Patience, Ningengirai. At first I too was kinda fustrated with the game and how it ran. However, stick with it. The story of MotB is a killer and worth all your while. It gets really interesting later on and when you are able to find out about the fates of your companions in the OC, thats priceless.

At least in my opinion.

Does it suffer from what I like to call the "My A bomb is bigger than your A bomb" effect, where crazy ass spells with enormous results are common?

Not, really. There are only a couple of new spells, and most are low level ones. So, most are same as in the OC but a couple have been revamped.

For example, the warlock's wall of fire now does its base damage plus his charisma bonus.

Maybe the spell with the highest damage is still harm and disintegrate. They also added a couple of power word spells, but those are stuff that can disable low hp units or drain thier stats.

So, no crazy ass spells. Though there are a couple of Epic spells that are way powerful, the game itself is kind off tough, so it balances itself out in the end.

This was my gripe with BG2/ToB. SoA had the feeling of growth and challenge within the environment. When you arrive as An Enormously Powerful Being, that's missing.

I bought it when it was released even though I hadn't completed the original Campaign. I like to play online (although I've been waiting for some really good PW's to be created and, as yet, haven't played online much) and wanted to make sure I had the most up-to-date version of the game in case the expansion was necessary there are also quite a few updates from the original game of course so wanted this even though I won't be playing the
18th Lvl + campaign.
