In my opinion I would agree that BG is superior as a single player R
PG but NWN comes into it's own in MP. Far superior to BG in that sense but BG is a single player game afterall and it's a little unfair to compare them when NWN was created for the MP experience.

Some games are just meant to be played alone. I know we differ on opinions here, but I feel NWN2 and MotB are one of those.

Well depends how you look at it. The campaign you get with the game is obviously a single player experience but all I'm trying to say is when NWN was created all that time ago it was created to support an online community with the campaign just being an addon to allow players to play SP if they want but all the tools for the game are for the MP side. There's a massive amount of material for online play as well as plenty of player made single player mods but the game comes into its own online with whole worlds being created for players to play on.

If you're looking for hardcore RP then you can find it online and there's so much variety it makes the game well worth the cash. Not so much with the single player experience although it's still pretty good. I lost many many hours to NWN1 playing on various worlds. There's so much online content it's crazy!

The NWN series were made to play online with single player game as an optional extra :)

If you are talking about online content then yeah, playing NWN2 would be great. I've lost count of the amount of mods and alternate quests generated by the NWN2 community. But even most of these mods lean towards the prospect of a single player experience. :)

And can you even apply more than one mod simultaneously to NWN2?

I believe I posted in your thread asking the same question. :) Not sure about that because I'm not too hot on NWN2 mods yet. All I have gotten so far are some player made campaigns which I usually apply one by one.

If we are talking about the player made adventure modules then you can have as many as you want but, obviously, can only play one at once. Not sure if there are any mods that tweak the game system though as I've not devoted enough time towards the online content for NWN2. As for NWN1 99% of mods were adventure mods with very few affecting any gameplay/graphics etc.

So I'm guessing the answer is yes you can install more than one. I love it when people remake the good old PnP modules. I remember playing the Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh with NWN1 and loving it. It was one of my alltime favourite PnP mods. I think the guy recreated the whole set of three but only played the first. As for NWN2 I did notice that the remade The Palace of the Silver Princess and Pool of Radiance but don't recall any others as yet.

NWN was a dream come true for me as I remember when I was young and had a ZX Spectrum I dreamed of a game being made that allowed you to load modules into a D&D system so you could play them on the computer like PnP game. Of course back then there were no CRPG's and if there had been they would have been text based but I'd forgotten that when NWN came out until I bought it and found you could download player mods and it all came flooding back. It's difficult sometimes remembering what your experiences with the early computer systems was. As games get more and more advanced we do tend to forget the most basic of games we used to play but they are always remembered fondly. I the first game you could compare to an RPG I played on the computer was a game on the Spectrum called Out of the Shadows. It made Ultima I look like Baldur's gate :)

Thought so. See, that's not especially obvious, not to a Morrowind veteran who runs 250+ mods at once, including any number of quests. :D Thanks for the reply!

Well I wasn't sure if you were a NWN1 veteran and if I understood properly what you were asking ;) It wouldn't be the first time I'd answered something only to receive a "well I understand that OBVIOUSLY..." ;)

honestly i forgot most of the storyline, but what i do remember is that the combat ROX MY SOX!

I loved NWN but this was REAAALLY GOOD! The character creation was ridiculously indepth and you could even specifically choose your god from the pantheon! :D

Use the toolset guys. It is very helpful in adding content such as new items to the original campaign. :)

Hi, I have it and I'm have problems that can not be solve. So I recommend that you play Neverwinter Night 2 before going to Mask of the Betrayer. Hopefully some of the bugs will be solve when you finish NWN2.
