Who should I choose?
Who should I choose?
I've decided to pull out BG1 & ToSC again for something to play and I'm having a hard time picking the sixth member of my group. So far I have my fighter character, my cleric character, Imeon, and I'm soon going to have Dynaheir and Minsc. I'm undecided for the last character. Possibly Kivan? Maybe Ajantis? I could also choose another mage or something of the sort. All suggestions are welcome and appreciated =) Whatever will balance the group is great.
If you're going to dual Imoen then a thief, Coran perhaps, would be a good idea.
[QUOTE=Darth Gavinius;1096098]Distrbution of games, is becoming a little like Democracy (all about money and control) - in the end choice is an illusion and you have to choose your lesser evil.

Welcome to GameBanshee.
I find that lower level Thieves do not have enough thieving skill points to be good at everything. Therefore, they are better if they specialize in one or two skills. I like to have two Thieves in my group so that one can have 100% in Find Traps and the other one can have 100% in Open Locks, with the rest of their points assigned to Stealth so that both of them can scout and backstab.
Since you have Imoen in your group, you could add another Thief or Fighter/Thief for "balance". Your choices are Coran (Fighter/Thief), Safana (Thief), Montaron (Fighter/Thief), Alora (Thief), and Tiax (Cleric/Thief). Skie can only be acquired if Eldoth is in your party when you meet her. Shar-Teel (Fighter) is also a viable option, because she can be dual-classed to a Thief.
I think Coran is the best choice. When you're not utilizing his thieving skills, he provides great ranged attacks with a bow. His Strength is low for a melee warrior, but he can backstab very well if you give him a Potion of Giant Strength.
Imoen can be dual-classed to Mage or Specialist Mage. If she remains a single-class Thief, she can reach 9th under the TOTSC experience cap and she'll have a 4x backstab multiplier. Don't underestimate her abilities.
I hope this helps.

Thank you for the suggestions & the welcome.
I was thinking about adding Coran to the party after reading about the NPC's again. He's probably the best option left. Also, I'm considering making Imeon a Specialist Mage once she's at a high enough level. I have played this game many times yet I have never dual-classed her to a mage. It shall be fun.
Thanks again =)
