Fighters Guild/Tongue-Toad help

Post by metallordofhell »

Hey, I bought morrowind goty a few years ago but never really got into it until a couple days or so. I've been doing quests for the fighters guild and the last one I got was to go kill Tongue-Toad in Aldruhn. When I got over to Aldruhn I stopped in the fighters guild to pick up another quest before I went to find Tongue-Toad. I decided to ask the steward where to look for tongue toad knowing I wouldnt have to persuade him into giving me an answer, but all he said was I probably shouldnt kill TT because he really didnt do anything bad. So I ran off and found TT in a tavern but when I talk to him theres no option to not kill him or even kill him (I'm assuming you just start wailing on him if you want to kill him). I went back to the guild stewart in vivec hoping I could just lie about killing TT but there was no dialogue that could conclude the quest. When talking to Tongue-Toad i start the "Tongue-Toad" dialogue but all he says is "What? The Fighters Guild sent you to kill me?" Have I missed something or have I ran into some sort of bug?

You probably need to get his disposition up to activate the non-killing dialogue option. Try bribiing him 10gp until his disposition goes over 75. I'm not sure if it has to be as high as 75, but that's the target I always aim for with NPCs, and I always got the option to let him escape, you can then lie to the Orc dude in Vivec.

Thank you for the reply. I think when I was last playing the dispostition was at 87. I'll try bribing him though and report back if I solved my problem or not. Thanks again.

EDIT: Ok I bribed him until his dispostition was all the way up at 100 but nothing new happend. Any other suggestions?

Very strange, if you're playing on a PC then all I can suggest are the following console options:

1. Open the console (press the ~ key), click on Tongu-Toad and type AddTopic, "Kill me"

or

2. Open console and type in Journal, FG_TongueToad, 70

Ok, I did the Addtopic command and it worked. Thanks for all your help.
