When I was still using my old computer I once downloaded a handy little device that removed the additional Google Tool bar search area when using Firefox, since clearly, having two spaces for this is redundant.
For the life of me, I can't seem to find it anymore, and I don't know the name of it either.
I looked at the Firefox Add-on site, but I can't seem to locate it there either. *sigh*
If anybody is able to tell me where I might find the thing I'll bake you cookies

I think all you need to do is click on the "G" and you'll get a menu with other different engines. Click on "Manage Search Engines" and remove them all. That is, if you're talking about the bar in the upper right corner.
If it's a whole line, you right click on the general area (row) of where file, edit and other options are located. You'll get a menu that lists your toolbars and has them checked or unchecked. You should find Google Toolbar there and all you need to do is uncheck it.
“The world breaks every one and afterward many are strong at the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially.”
Or you could go into the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel to remove that toolbar.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
If it's a toolbar you can easily get rid of it by going to view >>> toolbars >>> click on the google toolbar that's checked, this'll uncheck it.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.
~Mr. Popo, Dragonball Z Abridged
What I ended up doing was going to View>Toolbars>Customize, and then I simply dragged the unneeded search space into the box there with things like "I'm Feeling Lucky," which I don't use either.
Worked like a charm!
