Spellhold Portal Bug

Right, has anyone experienced this before, and if so, do they have a solution?

Right, I was feeling very lazy after giving Irenicus a beating in Spellhold and decided to go straight to the Underdark. Only, after refusing whats-his-name's boat ride, I go to the portal and my click to enter it.... and nothing...

I've tried moving my party right next to the portal and clicking from there, but nothing, even if they're all really close, I get no loading screen. The only save I have before I made the descision to refuse the boat offer is after Astral Prison and before Planar Sphere and the Mind Flayers in the city sewers.

And to be honest I can't really be bothered to play through Planar Sphere and the Mind Flayer area AND Spellhold just to make a different descision and accept the boat ride.

Have you got the ward stone that activates the portal?

Yep, from the room upstairs, you need it to open the door to get to the portal.

Have you patched the game with the latest official patch? It might help you know. Also installing a BG2 fixpack or G3 fixpack might help. And, by the way, you will really miss some cool action, VERY valuable items and a lot of xp if you choose to skip the boat ride....

Not to mention a very funny floating guy...
