Yes.
I say that depends on the class....
A good one to lose its WIS unless you are a cleric, if you are a cleric its INT.
- Waterdeep city constrution.

- Shadowdale low level adventure module.

- Rashmare /Thay high level adventure module.

I stuffed up witht the choice, so choose very very wisely

I have a paladin, who basically has maxed stats (18s) except in intelligence which she had the mimimum which was 3.

I went to Asylum, and when I was asked, I said to my self "hey, 3...2 what the dif?"

The difference was that I lost my special abilities for healing, slow poison and some other one I forgot.

I use Healing and Slow Poison alot, so I am no considering cheating to get it back up again. Image

Yes, you lost those because you lost your soul.

Believe it or not, I chose to lose 1 dex with my stalker 'cause in terms of story it just made sense that he'd slow down as he got older...

I just didn't like the idea that after all he'd been through, my PC would actually get dumber or more foolish. And couldn't afford to lose hp from con or that great 18/99 strength.

Losing that one bonus to AC didn't seem to hurt that much, in the end.

If you have Gauntlets of Dexterity or Girdle of Giant Strength, then you can lose points in those areas without affecting your character at all (as long as you keep wearing those items). Image

My second time through the game I played multi-player. So I exported my PC (.chr file) just before entering the asylum, and then I imported him back in after the dream sequence. That way you don't lose any atrributes AND you get to keep your special abilities. Image

im thinking that the stat bonus you get for attacking Sarevok in hell, was implemented to make up for this loss..you embrace the slayer within you..but, your alignment gets turned to neutral evil....that can produce some funny results with a paladin using carsomyr, and wearing the human flesh +5..for an insane amount of saving throw bonuses.
