i am currently in the quest where u have to rescue haer'dalis from prison...i am fighting those thrall...and i have obtaind the collar that is used to control them...
is it possible to use that collar on someone else and then summon him when needed?? i have a few of them already...so they could be quite handy...if not...is there any use of them..or is it just junk??
thanx in advance.
**spoiler** use of collar obtained from planar prison
They're effectively junk, unless you can think of a way of getting someone to wear it. I can't think of anyway of doing that myself, you can't put it in a quick slot, as you can with a different type of collar found in the underdark for instance.

It seems to me that if you put a thrall collar on anyone, then they will be controlled by a thrall master (who has the mastery orb), not by YOU.
Since the thralls are fighting me against their will and all they want to do is escape, I sneak around them and try to avoid killing them if possible. Keeping all of them alive is definitely a challenge.

I once applied a collar to a party member. They immediately started attacking other party members, and nothing could break them out of it except death and resurrection. Had to reload.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
Well, there are exactly four collars that do the trick of Mind Controlling your enemies, and they all are found in Underdark's Illithid City. You will have to use 2 of them to escape though. There is however a way to preserve all four by copying the collars via Projected Image or Simulacrum. After that you may apply the copying technique every time you want to control someone. The collars bypass completely Magic Resistance, and don't allow a saving throw either, and also last for a long time(6 hours or until Mind Controlled character is attacked by a party member).anish8185 wrote: is it possible to use that collar on someone else and then summon him when needed?? i have a few of them already...so they could be quite handy...if not...is there any use of them..or is it just junk??

Some enemies are of course immune to Mind Control. So don't be disappointed if it doesn't work every time. For instance, demons in general are immune to Mind Control while Golems are not.
The collars in the Planar Prison are best left alone.
thanx a lot for the advices...
